As one who attended the '06 game in Belton, I can only hope this game will have the same intensity as that one.  What an unbelievable defensive battle!!  The MHB speed at the LB spots was unbelievable and UWW found ways to create very timely turnovers.  But probably the biggest individual force in that game was Kleppe (#95), the '06 d3football.com defensive player of the year.  The Cru had absolutely no answer for that kid!!  I think Pete Fredenburg probably still has nightmares of #95!!

For all of you who were also at that game in '06, just wanted to hear your thoughts on the game.

Always remember, Pound the Rock and GO HAWKS!

Just to clarify my previous statement:  I was not referring to the entire MUC team as far as the whole lack of class issue.  I was just referring to the assist. coach who probably didn't need to run out onto the middle of the field.  Again, I was not referring to the entire Purple Raider nation.  Also, there is no doubt you guys will be back and be a helluva team next season.

Pierre Garcon actually got challenged today and couldn't deal with it.  Should have had 2 unsportsmanlikes but only one was called, and it was awesome to see him self-destruct like he did.  Have a safe trip back to Alliance ya big crybaby!! ;D

Awesome class shown by MUC with the Assist. Coach and Garcon.  Lost a little respect for Mt. Union after this one.  I guess that's what happens when they lose.  Disappointing to say the least.  :(

I think you meant Justin Beaver (not Beavers) ;D ;)

No, I am not saying all artificial noisemakers should be allowed, at least not until the NCAA lifts its ban on them.  If the rule states the noisemakers cannot be used, then they should not be able to be used.  What I am trying to say is that in the offseason the NCAA should review the rule and determine whether or not it is fair and accomplishing whatever the NCAA wanted the rule to accomplish.  Also, does the rule apply to all divisions or just D3?  (Because we all know how much D1 schools abuse the rule if it applies to them too)  If this is the case, then the NCAA better rethink what's going on and enforce the rule across the board and not just the cases in the smaller schools.  That is what I am trying to say.

What do you mean "let one slide"?  Nobody is going to "let a rule slide."  What I am trying to say is that not all rules accomplish what they were meant to accomplish.  When a rule becomes a rule, however, it SHOULD be enforced.  I just think the NCAA should review the noisemakers rule and consider the positive and negative effects of the rule.  If they still believe the rule is positive for NCAA football, then so be it.  "Letting it slide" is not the issue and I hope you know better understand what I am trying to say.  Thanks! ;D

Pat-
I can't speak for everyone on the issue, but I think the real issue on the noisemakers is the rule itself.  The rules should be enforced, but rules are not and should not be set in stone.  This rule is one that the NCAA should look into and possibly change or adjust.  Home field advantage is part of the game.  That being said, again, it is understandable that you would back the NCAA on enforcing the written rules--otherwise there would be chaos.  However, some rules do not accomplish what they were meant to accomplish.  (for example-last year's rule clock rule meant to "speed up the games" but only made a few minutes difference--no wonder that rule no longer exists)

As far as the Trey Bell post...Probably should have been on the list, but it's hard to see his value on paper cause teams would just never throw at him.  Great athlete, great DB, should be on the list.

Going back to the talk of the best players in WIAC history....
I have watched WIAC football for over 15 years, and I these are the few players who I think could TOTALLY take over a game and are probably the best WIACers of the past 10-15 years if not the history of the league:
QB  Krause
RB  Beaver
WR  Burnoski, Stanley
DT  Kleppe--an absolute beast!! (should have won the Gagliardi last yr)
LB  Raebel, Kriewaldt
DB  Beckham, Teeples

There have been many other great players in this league, but these guys could flat out take over a game by themselves.

Does Kofoed still play for your johnies??  I wondered if he would come back and play this year after what Kleppe did to him at the Perk last year!! :D  But seriously, UWW-SJU would be another great battle again (assuming both teams take care of business till that pt.)  What's the scouting report on the johnies?  Looks like you've had a few close games.

Someone had mentioned the "Take that Whitewater" quote and I SERIOUSLY can't remember what that was all about.  I am not trying to be a jerk about the whole thing, but I just can't remember what exactly happened.  Didn't it have to do with stout's old coach?  Maybe I'm wrong, but can someone refresh my memory??

ihavesomething2say:  I'm sorry to say this, but you're just wrong.  It may be your opinion, but it's still wrong.  Sorry :'(
