Congrats UWW for putting the finishing touch on a great season... third time was the charm for you guys.  And it's kinda nice to be able to say the only team to beat my Crusaders was the national champ!  :)

soldier, is Alan Munoz the younger brother of Joel?

Great game by the Warhawks, you made the plays on offense when you had to have them, and defense kept UMHB from doing the same.  UMHB had a couple chances in the first half and again in the second, but the UWW defense held when they had to.  Good luck against Mount.

come on now CruAlum39, this is the great tlu goat we're talking about here ;D

I'd like to see the Cru open up a possession with that same play action option fake that had the big play to Pete Medlock on the TD drive, and maybe catch the Warhawks off guard on 1st down.

all that talk about the cold affecting the Cru, and yet a lot of the players are not even wearing full sleeves... looks like they're not too bothered by cold  :)

I'm impressed at causing such a stir by repeating something I was told at a UMHB game earlier this year.  I only meant to point out that UMHB doesn't exactly suffer a letdown at RB if Thrasher goes out.  Whatever Quincy's official combine 40 might be, he's definitely fast and definitely really strong for his size.

As far as D1 offers, he definitely got some, but not too many of the big name schools are knocking down the doors to get a guy his size (listed 5'8" 190 on the UMHB website) to play running back, no matter how fast they may be.

Daniels has almost 1500 yards rushing on the season averaging 7.8 a carry and 19 TDs.  He's plenty good, and if he gets past the defense there are very few people in all of D3 who are fast enough to catch him... runs somewhere in between a 4.2 and 4.3 I believe.

Oliver got injured, I believe in the first round game against Trinity.  In the two ASC games after UWW, he had 7 catches for 129 yards and 4 TDs according to the stats on the UMHB website.

Although, being in the North region, and so close to the East and even South Regions, it's probalby easier for teams up there to schedule good opponents that aren't more than a bus ride away.

Exactly.  That's the problem UMHB faces... no quality D3 teams within reasonable bus riding distance, except Trinity and they are not going to schedule UMHB anytime soon for a non-conference game, given their recent history against each other.  And all the D2's in Texas play either other D2's or play up against D1-AA (or whatever they're calling that now), so they're definitely not looking for a game against a D3 either.

wish I was going to be in town, but I'll be in Houston until late Saturday afternoon so I won't even have the radio broadcast... good luck Crusaders!

I saw that nominations for the Gagliardi Trophy are due today, I was wondering what the normal age is of the winner? Is it normally a senior? Mainly I am just wondering if Quincy Daniels has a shot at it.

not this year... maybe in the future but a back that is splitting time with another (even in this case when both are outstanding players) is not going to win over a guy that is the workhorse.
