UPSTATE....OUTSTANDING COMMENT!

Has anyone else heard that Mount Union can walk on water and change water into wine?

Obviously Mount Union's defense and team are amazing and impressive.  But honestly, when u say 3 points all year, it does make Mount look awesome, but at the same time it makes every other team they play look miserable and terribly uncoached.  If one of those teams were competitive they should have at leats put up one or two touchdowns.  A good offensive coordinator can find something to exploit.  As much as that amazing stat reflects how talented and sick Mount's D must be.  I believe it also reflects on the lack of competition in the OAC this year.

Maybe the mini-bears playing Mount.  but then again the mini-bears might have a mini-Ditka.

I believe the kicker for Ithaca is a freshman.  Kills me seeing missed EP's but all you can do is prepare more and get the kid as much experience as possible.  I hope the kicking game is not the deciding factor.

If hartwick plays the same way they did against Ithaca and Fisher, they will hanle Curry quite easily.  They play second rate football in the NEFC.  The players party during the week and basically run through their schedule because they are the least terrible in the conference.  But they are undefeated and that says something.  the game could be a war but I Doubt it.

Hartwick 38
Curry 17

Does anyone know Mount's Defense without getting an answer like: "Only the best Defense ever!"  Over, Under, Okie, 3-3 stack?

It's amazing how eveyone keeps saying how Ithaca can't handle the D-Line and we won't be able to throw or run the ball.  It seems like many Mount fans act like every All-American comes from the OAC.  What about all the All-American D-lineman, D-backs, and linebackers Ithaca and other E8/Upstate teams face every year.  Lang, Haas, Shafiro, Truman, Colon, Stepnick, and many other outstanding defensive players.  I guess the committees just give the east all-americans out of pity to meet their quotas.  I hope My. Union shows up with the same amount of cockiness that their fans possess.

Ric,

Yeah, I believe more than any other two schools combined.

It is amazing how Mount fans get insulted anytime anyone says an East team has a shot against them.  I guess Ithaca should just forfeit and not bother taking the 400 mile trip.  Every legitimate post has recognized Mount as the favorite, but to deny Ithaca or any East team having a show to beat them is ignorant.

Yeah, I definitely see an E8 team having a great chance against Mount.  I was looking at the stats of the teams they play, they really don't see as many west coast style teams as Ithaca, Fisher, and Wick.  Could bea check for those teams in the preparation category.

Yes, Ithaca 7 appearances, 3 Chamionships...Mount has 10 appearances and 9 National Championships.

How close was that St. John Fisher/Mount Union game last year?

It is MOUNT UNION that the Bombers are playing so right away you have to give the edge to them.  At the same time it is really not as overwhelming as some are making it out to be.  I do believe to an extent that the OAC has a large drop off in competition from the better schools to the lower ones which is why a lot of their scores and stats are rather bloated.  If anyone remembers 2003, in the quarters RPI and Ithaca played in Noreaster in a game that came down to the last drive really.  RPI winnning, they went on to play St. John's in another close game and St. John's went on to beat Mount Union that year for the Championship.  I know you really shouldn't use they "Well we beat the team that they lost to mantality", but it does show that competition is definitely there.  No matter what happens you got to love two teams meeting in the first round with a combined 17 National chamionship apperances and a combined 12 National Championships.  Not to mention the fact that they are two of the most recognizable schools in all of Division 3 sports.  This is just outstanding.
