I get the complaint in this case, but the committee needs a formula that is consistent and as fair as possible, and there will always be edge cases it can't account for.  The simple way to avoid being a few spots behind another 9-1 team of course would have been to go 10-0. 😁

Luckily, Pat knows more about football than I do.  Hopefully we see many more performances like that from Filips next year.

That's too bad for Fromberg, but I'm also excited to see what Filips can do against CMU.  However, the way CMU has been playing has me skeptical that CWRU will even keep it within a couple scores.

I think CWRU is headed for 6-4 and the have-nots really are THAT bad this year.

Ha, geez, yeah, that should have been obvious.  For the sake of argument, let's say it was 3 teams with the same score margin, and they were all 1-1 against each other.

I know it's unlikely, but it's possible for all 5 of the top teams to end up tied with 2 losses each.  In that case, none of criteria would be able to break the tie other than score margin due to there not being any non-conference games.  What would happen if 2 of the 5 teams involved in the tie had the same score margin?

We are in that spot.  If any of the 5 teams with 1 loss win out, and the team that beat them also wins out, there is no clear winner.

I know we previously discussed the haves and have nots situation of the PAC, but CWRU's schedule makes this abundantly clear this year.

After week 7, through 6 games, CWRU's average margin of victory is over 45 points, and their closest game was a 41-7 victory over Waynesburg in week 1.  The starters have yet to play at all in the 4th quarter of a game, and have barely even seen any action in the 3rd quarter.

Yet, we still don't have any idea how CWRU will fare in their final 4 games of the season.  They realistically could finish 6-4, 10-0, or anywhere in between.

Again, it's hard to tell how CWRU will fare against the top teams, but I did not expect the game last night to be that bad of a beat down.  Case won 64-6, but took a knee on the Bethany 2 to end the game and fumbled on the Bethany 2 in the first quarter.  Bethany's lone score came on an 86 yard TD pass after a missed tackle.  Other than that play, Bethany had 14 total yards.

I think everybody is looking too deeply into this.  I know this is a slight to some of the teams in the PAC, but let's be real.  This move is likely due almost solely to the fact that CMU isn't thrilled about having over half their games each year be similar to the one they just played this past Saturday.

If the PAC booted the 4 worst teams, it'd be similar to the CC.  The problem is that there are too many of those teams filling up the schedules of the top teams.

My sons and I traveled from Cleveland, Knoxville, and Cincinnati to go to a fraternity reunion and watch the game. I have no explanation, but as they left the field after the game to go to the locker room they were psyched and talking about how they were back. Well, apparently they still have some work to do to get to the top tier of the PAC. No other PAC football team has won a national title, so they do have a history...

Now I'm truly baffled as to what team W&J is.  Getting shut out in the second half by Waynesburg and only winning by 5?  Was this the same team I saw playing CWRU 2 weeks ago?

Speaking of W&J dominating, CWRU also dominated Allegheny.  After watching CWRU play W&J and then Allegheny two weeks in a row, I have to ask; how in the world did W&J get out gained by Allegheny (and held scoreless in the second half)?  I expected Allegheny to put up more resistance against CWRU, but they got trounced.

Thanks, ADL.  I missed all but the last few minutes of the first half.  I don't like complaining about the refs (I don't know if I ever have on my 15 or so years on this board), but combined with some questionable calls I saw in the second half, it sure does sound like we got homered a bit.

The roughing the QB on W&J's last drive was a terrible call.  However, the worst call of the entire game had to be the block in the back called on Coyne that turned about a 30 yard gain into an 8 yard gain.  An earlier interference call was even called into question by the announcers.  Whether or not any of these calls individually affected the outcome of the game, collectively they made it feel like we were playing against more than 11 W&J players at a time.

There were a number of questionable calls in W&J's favor, but CWRU didn't really play well enough to deserve to win that game.
