Could not agree more with Wally Wabash.  That is very unfortunate about what allegedly happened last year at the Case vs. Wabash game.  Wally is right sometimes you just need to ignore it all.  Unfortunately picking out someones name and heckling is not just done by Wabash.  It is something that has increasingly become a more integral part of College Sports for the worse.  I am sure some remember JJ Redick at Duke being heckled by UNC or some of you might not even remember Steve Kerr (NBA player) while a Freshman at Arizona was heckled with chants of "PLO, PLO" or "Where's your dad?"  For those that don't know the story, His dad was killed while at American University in Beirut by the PLO.  That may put everything into perspective.  You just cannot react to the hecklers, it is not good for these young student-athletes but acknowledging it will not help you out.  I don't have a rooting interest as I am an oldtime NCAC fan back when Case was in our league so good luck to both teams.  Best thing that can happen, just don't go near each other.

With the JV vs Alumni game tip officially confirmed for 3:00pm.  What an excellent opportunity to visit some of Wooster's finest restaurants.  Coccia House is always a fan favorite (as previously mentioned) but one can always be tempted by the classy french restaurant in town, Che LeRoys, or the Olde Jaol is always an option.  The most exciting rumor floating around is that after the game New President Grant Cornwell has graciously provided the Wooster Inn Guest House (The old rubbermaid house) for all those returning for this thrilling event! 

The Alumni classic is slated for 3:30 because a high school game will break up the excitement from the JV vs. Alumni and the Wooster vs OWU game.  With the amount of notable alumni reported to come back you gotta wonder what Coach Gaubatz might try to do to slow down this threat.  This has got to be his toughest challenge in his young Collegiate Coaching career!

I haven't posted in a while but was made aware by a good friend of mine that Rachel Thompson was transferring to Cedarville, and Wooster Booster mentioned her brother Rob. 

I remember when Rob laced up those high tops for the scots.  They were some fun teams to watch.  Just brought back some memories of cheering for the Scots when they had the likes of Ryan Gorman, John Ellenwood, Wooster Assistant Nate Gaubatz, Bryan Nelson, Matt Smtih.  Those were some exciting teams.  The won the best Mose Hole to date when defending champ (at the time) Calvin and Chicago came to Timken ranked 1 and 3 respectively.  Wooster won the tournament and ultimately received the school's first ever ranking.  Rob was lucky enough to have some great teammates and obviously great coaches.   ! 

Anyway, my nostalgic moment is up.  KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK SCOTS!

First, congrats to Wooster on another great NCAC Tournament, and Regular Season.  KEEP ON PLAYING!

Just a quick question for those who made it down to Springfield.  The box score for game two lists the attendance at 225 and game one at 275.  Is this accurate?  The only reason I ask is because the semifinal game between Wooster and Witt have three games attendance listed at 150, 150, and 130?  I have a hard time believing that many more people traveled to watch the championship.  Wouldn't it have been nice for fans to be close to where the games where.  While I can't speak for OWU fans I can remember Wooster winning many regular season titles and watching a lot of great college games at Thurman Munson, or at Wooster.  The light(s) argument the NCAC makes is a bunch of crap.  First, the weather was perfect this weekend and second even if it was not they have a whole other weekend to get the games in before the regional.   Can anyway explain the point of the regular season (aside from the obvious you have to qualify for the NCAC Tournament)?  What is the reward for winning the regular season?  Playing a championship game 2.5 hours away? 
Just a note from personal knowledge, Kent State will be hosting the Division 1 Mid-American Conference Tournament, (the are about to win the Regular Season) and they do not have lights at their stadium?
Maybe this will get some people talking!
I just feel like the NCAC is punishing the stronger East conference, Outside of OWU (which is a great baseball program) who else belongs?  The top teams year in and year out are Wooster, OWU, Denison, Kenyon, Allegheny.  Wooster, OWU, and ALL winning the last 21 championships?

Looks like he played and graduated from Hiram in 1994, with plenty of coaching experience aftewards.

In one of my only serious posts on this website I want to congratulate Steve Fleming on his return to his alma mater.  I had the pleasure of working with him for a few years at Ashland and he is a class guy with a great knowledge of basketball.  I hope Hiram truly gets behind him (build him a new airport hanger or something) and he is able to build some success there.  Good luck Coach Fleming!

Hey i know this is slightly off topic but it is always nice to see some NCAC Alumni out and about.  I was lucky enough to see recent Woo grad Matt Schlingman play in a men's basketball league last night and he has not lost his touch.  Matter of fact he even hit a couple threes.  He had a nice post game in college but he must have been working on his perimeter game in recent weeks.  Shame he didn't have one more year of eligibility, With Witucky graduating, Schlingman could be a nice addition to the perimeter of the Scots, a 6'8" guy that can shoot the three!  (maybe even better than JJ Redick)  Good work Matt!

For Wooster's sake I hope Hiram brings a lot of fans.  I can't totally speak for Vanilla24COW but as a former player it was always fun to have a decent crowd for weekday games so when we sat the last 15 minutes of a blowout we had people to look at, I am only kidding.   The reason the games at Hiram were always close is not only was the gym not the best facility in the conference as Vanilla24COW mentioned but I was always tired just getting from the locker room on the other side of the field house all the way to the gym.  That was a long jog,  .  Those were some great times hustling through the cold field house, down the long hall way, and into the gym.    

OK I am just in one of those moods, in all seriousness, CONGRATS to the SCOTS on a great weekend and looking forward to a trip to Wooster the 24th and 25th of February!

Out of curiousity since i was not able to , Anyone want to let me know what the Witt fans were chanting in the second half that has a few of the posters a bit upset?

Great point VanillaCow24,I only wish I will be there to see Wittenberg alum (he did graduate right?) BJ Harris leading the Wittenberg Student Section, and of course the great game that will be played.   I know it will be another classic Woo-Witt game and I will definitely be listening to it on the radio.  I just can't wait till the replay it on ESPN 8 "the ocho" Good luck scots

A few comments about the academics
-- The whole academic card, seriously amazing that a newspaper would write garbage like that.  Of course, i have little faith in most newspapers!  However, it is kind of convenient that the source is just a "university official."  Don't you think if you wanted to add credibility to your point/story you would want to have a named source, unless there was reason you couldn't be named (For example, Deepthroat)...HMMMMM it has gotta make you wonder though.  And let's be careful about the whole giving Coach Brown credit for being so respectful after the game.  He does have a bit of a track record of displaying a completely different behavior (rather disrespectful) to Wooster players, coaches, scorekeepers, and fans.
