not that any of you really care but i had been curious why Carr hadn't played for the cards in there last 2 wins, oh yeah sorry i forgot one was cheated away from them, but in their last 2 games he has been on the bence in street clothes.  Apparently he tore a ligament in his hand against olaf i believe whatever game was 3 games ago for them.  He finished the 2nd half however...tough kid in my opinion or at least it seems that way, torn ligaments are usually pretty painful from my experience.  Anyways good luck to the carrless cards tomorrow againist a down bethel team

On another side note Johnson is a disgrace to James Naismith (spelled that wrong)  all he does is talk trash, try and bully people all game, but when some one even touches him he flops like a fish out of water.  I have never been more disappointed that i even played in the same conference even though it was over ten years ago!  He should never get the calls he got.  However the ref giving him the calls was the same ref who counted the late game winnning basket.  If this were the NBA the ref would be in some very deep trouble right now, the miac should review this tape and Credit the cards with the win

WOW, that's pretty brave/stupid of you to say about Johnson when you really have nothing to back it up. Especially in a game where he can't be stopped. He plays the game hard, with love, and passion and that makes him a bad person? NO. I've seen it from many players and that doesn't make them a disgrace. It shows they are intense and have a passion for the game and are out their to win. Which is why we all love watching any level of sports. Yeah, there is some flops at times, but if the calls are going your way then you take them.

Yeah, CAR might have gotten by with one(hard to tell), but their not the ones calling the game. Luck is on your side sometimes. Take your loss and move on. Seems like you have more of a problem with the refs and the game and need a player to blame. Don't bash any player just because you don't like what you see and the outcome of a game. Johnson, among many other MVP players in the league, are stand out players and deserve credit (no matter what team they play for).

No dont get me wrong scoring wise yes he had a good game against a team that has the tallest player at what 6'2 when johnson is what 6'6? man what a challenge for him.  It doesnt seem like he should get pushed arpund then.  Johnson is no where close to an MVP.  i have seen PG way tougher than him.  But you my friend may be the stupid one since apparently flopping is becoming a decorated art in this conference nowdays.  It used to be a hardnose conference and the refs would let you play.  and yes i am sticking by what i said.  Zach Johnson should be slapped in the back of the head, his father should be ashamed that he has a daughter playing on the guys basketball team

ok well i made the trip for the Carlton vs St. MAry's game today and i couldn't have been more please with how the game went and more disappointed with the people that are paid to work it.

At the end of the game CAR ball with 3.3 seconds left with the cards up one.  Not only did he for sure step over the line on the inbounds the clock started on time when it was thrown in, but then stopped again at 2.5, during the stoppage sutherland fumbled the ball dribbled 3 times and then through up a half court shot, CAR got the rebound came down with it then made the lay up to win!  Someone please explain to me 1) how all of that only took 3.3 seconds? 2) why there wasnt one of the 3 referees watching the clock with the game on the line. 3) The scorekeeper reportedly told St. Mary's coaches that he started then stopped the clock at the end of the game and he was sorry.    St. Mary's won the game and if the CAR website will still allow you to watch the webcast i encourage all of you to do so.  Even after the clock started again the backboard was red on the rebound of the half courter, before the lay-up was shot.

St. MAry's hasn't earned much this year but it's too bad that when they show up and play against a playoff team and win, they still lose. If this were the NBA the ref would be in some very deep trouble right now, the miac should review this tape and Credit the cards with the win

now i dont know about you guys but i am very excited to watch the smu hamline game.  A lot of running not so much defense being played, on hamline's part anyways...but that isnt why i am excited.  We will have a chance to see the 2 best dunkers in the miac (no contest) go at it on monday night.  I want to see some very nice dunks by both participants.  Considering the competitiveness and watching both of them play through high school if one gets a dunk it wont be long before the other one throws down.  And since the two are pretty good friends from what i hear, im sure they will be trying to go at eachother depending on match ups.  But i do think it will be a game inside the game.

Drake Palmer:  i know how much you liked Carr's tip dunk at mac and hamline doesnt really box out so dont be suprised to see another one on monday.  Are you going to the game? i recommend it strongly.

Yeah.... how bout that SMU MAC game? With a center scoring as much as he did, you would think it'd help to have some height in there.

Any talks for who gets freshman of the year? That kid from St Thomas could really play.

No doubt about it he is a good player...but also no doubt about it Will Wright is the most dominate freshman in the miac and it shows in the scoring leaders list i believe he is 3rd....he might not get it because of their poor record, but if it is given to the "BEST" freshman it is clearly Mr. Wright

drake in response to your eralier post rohr and cormier are both done and the cards don't seem to distraught over it from what i hear!!!

Skibbity???

word has it smu put in a new defense and offense after their embarrassing loss to the tommies? i heard some major reconstruction is going on in winona???

and why aren't they reconstructing the coaching staff? hasn't it been long enough?

smu - wouldn't it be something...2 senior captains leave the cardinals and they turn their season around??? could this be what was needed??? im not saying it will help at all but heck it couldn't hurt right we'll see if they look improved at St thomas i'll be making the trip to find out first hand

word on the street is smu had some subtractions to the team i guess a couple of players either quit or got kicked off, im not sure as to who they are i guess we will see come the St. Thomas game tomorrow.  any speculations as to who got the boot from the Cardinal squad?

oh drake sorry if i put that unclearly i didn't mean Cormier shouldn't be on the court and im sorry if that is indeed what i said, i just mean he should stop putting up so many shots like he does.  Especially tough, contested fade away shots when being double teamed.  I know the cards need the 6'6 senior, but i don't think it is in the way that old Danny Goldy Locks thinks they need him in.  He can get points with out forcing but it seems as though when he gets the ball he takes them out of their flow.  He is a good ball player, he just needs to realize he isn't the star of the team.  A freshman by the name of Wright is

Cormier...STOP SHOOTING THE BALL!!!  he went a ridiculous 3-11 with an additional 6 free throw attempts and ended with 10 points.  Go get rebounds that is the onyl reason your in the game, or should be in the game, along with the 4 turnovers he had in his 27 minutes of action.  just aweful!  Carr, Holland and Wright a combined 11-16 from behind the arc.  only 2 other Cards made 1 three pointer.  Carr 3-4 with 9 points and 0 turnovers and 2 steals??? maybe Carr should be putting up the 10+ shots instead of cormier and holland and wright will have someone else to go to.  Especially since Carr puts up the same numbers except for less rebounds but in turn less turnovers too.  Also plays ten less minutes, now who is more productive per minute??? I know most people dislike the motorvehicle but he is shooting over 50% on the year.... Just some speculation.  But i do know that wright and holland need some one else to give them more of a hand.

cardinals are aweful, perhaps a change is needed, perhaps one of the coaching staff.  bright spots for SMU though in last nights defeat, Wright 23 points, Carr 6 steals

Tough loss last night, but man... 19 posts later & now you're giving up on the Birds??  Hmph.

no im not giving up on them that was just some frustration coming out i still believe everything i have said about them, i think they are finall starting to get a handle on their rotation with rohr sitting out all of the 2nd half and carr playing 20+ minutes, they just need to pull everything together

bethel could be a good team, but losing the stars from last year hurt and they didnt know how to deal with it.  They will improve im guessing but definately not a top 3 team in my opinion

yea st thomas beat winona st, st mary's got creamed, and yet st mary's should've beaten st thomas.  Anyone can beat anyone on any given night, and i havent jumped off of mary's wagon or my scots, i think they will both improve greatly the second half of conference play.  Mac however it will be tough to win with only 2 good players, the rest are average at best. St mary's on the other hand has the talent to do damage in the league and be the spoiler of playoff hopes for a few teams with some wins.  especially running and pressing the way that they do, whenever they decide to put all the elements together (meaning playing Carr with Hollan and Wright, along with Cormier, and anybody else except the big guy Rohr) they will blow someone right out of the water.  Wright and Carr definately fit the style of play as wright has proven, and Carr proved very well in high school.  I'm sure if coach T-Bird actually gives him a chance to do something he will prove all of his enemies on this board that he is a good ball player.

last time i checked the only conference game they should've lost was the CAR game, every game they have lead most of it and should have won but the young team with no leaders cant close.  hopefully its a building year, only really losing one senior they should start moving up next year.  i havent given up on them completely as i do expect to see them win some more games this year and move out of the bottom three teams.  they have to beat the auggies tomorrow night, and by beat them i mean blow them out if they want to gain any confidence.  A win is a win, but a blow out will do more for their morale.
