anyone think that these all sunyac teams were chosen badly?
I do agree with alot of the players but there are some instances that just puzzle me.

mike chiapparelli with 28 at bats no extra base hits no rbis makes a UT over say welch who had prolly the best numbers in the conference. Leads to my second point, i dont know how welch didnt make first team. His numbers are better than Zaccardo, and i think every infielder on that list.

I know it wouldnt make other teams happy but i thought the two cortland kids deserved first team pitching, ratliff and tone. They were amazing all season.

I dont remeber seeing adam dimino in many sunyac box scores. Or his brother in that case. How can you give it to kids with 25-30 at bats over kids with 50+ with higher averages and better numbers i just dont get it.

Im going to to imagine that it is all because of coaches not liking certain players or certain teams cause these sunyac teams are not the 2 best possible teams judging by sunyac only performance.

The way these kids are chosen to these teams needs to change because its not fair to some of them who bust it everyday and then a kid who plays half the games gets it over them with worse numbers.

On a good note, yes i have some of them, congrats to maxwell he had one heck of a season, as well as tone who was lights out all year and filak from oneonta, kid is gonna be tuff throughout his career. Goodluck to all the seniors!

cortland 15 pburgh 7, cortland knocked kelly out of the game in the 3rd by andy gardner blasting two balls of him one on his forearm. They put 5 up on him in the 3rd with a costly error by plattsburgh. After that cortland put a number up in every inning off pburghs relief. Cortland really showed its ability to just flat out outslug a team today. Tomorrow is brockport vs pburgh early followed by cortland oneonta after.

i think jeudes for oneonta, mascari for bport, pretty sure kelley already threw against cortland but hes the only pitcher for pburgh who can give them a chance, and i dunno what joe brown will do cause i dont think he likes to run pitchers out against teams that they have already thrown against. With him having a deep staff he might run someone out there that pburgh hasnt seen. Only other possibility is maybe the Filak kid for oneonta instead of jeudes.

Any First team Sunyac predictions for all the posistions including pitchers?

after reading a few things it appears that that was kelley's first start of the season. He threw some relief against sunyit but cortland was his first start. Tough team to get your first start of the season against but id say he did pretty well. Plattsburgh will need him at full health to stand a chance in my opinion. I just dont think any of their any pitchers can beat some teams and kelley is prolly in top 3 pitchers of the conference when healthy. Fredonia sweeps new paltz today shaking up the standings a little more. Oswego over plattsburgh 16-0 in the opener!!!!! see what i mean with plattsburghs lack of pitchers. Some big games coming next weekend!!!

Saw cortland play plattsburgh today, cortland just seems to be able to hold on in close games, gotta give credit to defense and bullpen work. First game plattsburgh outfielders handed them several runs making it a 3run game, without those plays its prolly a tie ballgame, but gotta give credit to the dragons for jumping on mistakes by the cardinals. Second game started sloppy, think there was about 3 bunts that cortland didnt field or get an out, key error by plattsburgh in the 2nd inning allowing the inning to completly turn over. Was impressed by the two pitchers in the second game though, after the sloppy play early the ratliff kid really settled in and retired the last 11 guys he faced keeping them off balance all day. The kelley kid from plattsburgh looked good, retired the last 12 batters getting ground ball after ground ball, kid has a nice arsenal of pitches. Offense just wasnt there for either team at the end and plattsburgh just happened to be behind. Great baseball games though well played by both teams.

Just got word that Brian Meehan a former Plattsburgh State baseball player passed away on sunday due to his battle with cancer. Our thoughts and prayers to his family friends and the plattsburgh team.

d3baseball.com has cortland as the team to beat in the NY region, also mentions plattsburgh as a team to possibly play up to par with them. Congrats to both SUNYAC teams on being mentioned on the national level in the pre-season.

i think the tournament should be kept. Its a great way to showcase the talent of the SUNYAC one of the best divisions in DIII baseball

What about having the tourney in the Albany/troy area. Joe Bruno Stadium is unbelievable. Then you have bleeker near by and many many other nice parks from what i remember from the area.

I like the cooperstown idea although i do agree with many of you that it would be a difficult funding task as well as it possibly becoming irritating to teams that they can't do certain things there because of their strictness. Dont think you can even have seeds in the dugout there.

Cortland is set up to make one heck of a run in my opinion. They have solid pitching and their offense may be the best its ever been

anyone have any knowledge about the pitching behind potter and the new paltz lineup? Do they still have that little crafty lefty?

I know from last year plattsburgh will have welch, campbell, hughes, kowalowski, kelley, and jarvis returning for their lineup. They also got a transfer from SCC Joe curcio another lefty who i believe is takin hughes spot at first place. My guess being he cant play anywhere else but first and hughes is versatile enough to go to OF. The
other two spots i believe they would be RF and either 2nd base or catcher will either be filled by humphrey or some freshman that coach doorey brought in. Not very knowledgeable about the p-burgh freshman though. But those other 7 already seem to be a fairly potent lineup in my opinion. Not quite cortland strength but prolly 2nd to them in the sunyac.
