I just wanted to let everyone know that as of right now the plan is to have the Hope home games live on the athletic page on Hopes website. we have the football games delayed but they are being put up on that. Just a little perk for those of us who aren't around or able to watch live. ;D

when it comes to mid season tryouts, they do happen. When i played my fresh year we had a football player get a 2 or 3 (i can't recall the specifics) day tryout after football was over. i believe the same happened last year with Nelis (when he got here he got a tryout that is), and congrats to the Calvin football team for being just as competative as Hope's   i liked that one!

I just got off work and watched Sportscenter, and the DJ Mocini shot was #5 on the top 10. Got me stoked to look up all the nights scores! Congrats to Albion! Big day of basketball at the DeVos this weekend with a mens and womens double header.

Oh yeah and the Calvin tickets are going, can't wait for round 2!

Wow, an 18 year old with a little cockiness.  Who knew, this must be the first time ever. :-\

And clearly Sac didn't let go of his at 19 or 20 either  ;)

That can be confirmed by many.

I might be a little cocky if i went 5-6 from the floor for 15 pts as a freshman even if i was at Hope and we are all classy  ::) and Sac, i'm sure plenty of us young bucks would still hang out with ya and drink some root beer and dream of Orange and Blue :)

It feels like i'm always late for comments but whatever. On the Ty Tanis thing and him being smug and holding his follow through up, aren't players taught to hold there follow through up? Also he just smiled and backpedled as he hit the three right before the push nothing was said. Maybe the tounge out ala Jordan got to Danzy I beleive it was.

On a posotive note, it seems to me that Tanis could be the second coming of Daane Griffith as far as shooting wise, he just needs to be more consistant but he is a freshman and thats to be expected. There may be other great 3 pt shooters in Hope History, but Tanis just reminds me of Daane in the time I've been at Hope

Oh and i wanna know how this Karma thing works cause i'm at -1 for some reason. I'm angrier than GVW when he fouled Drayer a few years back.

You need a certain amount of posts to be able to give or take away.  Maybe it's 25.

You need to reach 100 post in order to award karma or smite a poster

That's a lot!   ;)

Ya thats more then Hope has wins vs Calvin!

I was watching the WGVU broadcast with their terrible annoucers.  The main announcer, Brent Ashcraft I believe, said that Hope came in as "a slight underdog."  I wonder what Brent Ashcraft was smoking before the game?  If you just look at win-loss records Hope was the favorite.  Granted Hope doesn't have a winning record at Knollcrest, is that what made them the underdog in Brent's opinion?

Another thing it would be nice if WGVU got the color guy from the host school.  Maybe they are doing that since Phelps is a Calvin grad.  Any ideas?

There should be either non biased or one from each school, or at least someone who isnt going to say "nice layup" in the worst monotone voice ever after some makes well...a layup. I dont think i heard the announcers get excited over anything almost the whole game and thats pathetic especially in a game of this caliber. I know i get excited over little things like a Hope player hitting an opening three against alma or olivet. WGVU needs to figure it out and get some excitment in their games. Maybe put Terpstra (the guy who did the on floor intervies) to do some color?

Well i have been in class all day and reading the last 4 pages has been entertaining to say the very least. To clear up a few things about my initial post that where in question. I was not second guessing the way MVH and Wolfe played, i was only saying i wish the people who watched it on TV could have been there to see the brilliants that was those two on saturday. And DVS tossing the ball and jumping around must have felt great after a subpar performance and in front of alot of his former fans and classmates non the less. I guess i'll take this as a lesson to make my sentences a little more complex since i do have a proper Hope education ;D

I know last year when Hope lost at home i was out on the floor almost guarding the anchor from being stomped on when alot of the Calvin fans rushed the floor, and this year when the storming happened i was right on top of the knight at center court but wasn't stomping on it rather the jumping around with he players celebrating a very hard fought win after being down by wayyyy to much in the second half. I cant wait for round two, but until the. Hope vs 3 state on wed.

3. I don't know who the two that did the broadcast night (color guy was the Holland Christian coach, maybe?), but it was pretty brutal.   If you were a neutral observer watching that game, it was tough to draw any enthusiasm from the broadcast.   The color call was monotone, and not very insightful.   You would think for "the game" you would want a little better producion.

Well this being my first post on here, good thing it comes after Hope beat Calvin. But seriously the broadcasting on TV wasnt that great. I was in the Dew Crew, and DVRed the game and watched it again today, and the commentating was pretty bad and my roomate commented to me that he heard him say "home free" about 4 times in the couple minutes he watched in the beggining. Also it was mentioned earlier but having two Calvin fans talking about the game just doesnt seem fair..does it? ;D Also the sound went out a few times as well as the screen going fuzzy once or twice.

I guess this is me complaining for those who couldn't be there to witness MVH and T Wolfe going to town and they deserve better :)

Either way it feels good to be a Dutchmen and gain that 1 game lead in the series.

One more thing about DVS. If anybody noticed after Veldy missed the final three and the buzzer sounded, DVS grabbed the ball and tossed it into the "Knight Club" or the "Knightmares" whatever they call themselves these days, and i know it must have felt better for him to be jumping around on their floor after the game. I know I loved it!
