Interesting schedule not...Trinity's Evan Bronson and OU's Daniel Sarisky will face each other in the NYPA league August 22-24. Well, they PERSONALLY won't face each other but the SCAC will be well represented in that series.

I've noticed that some regions have released their All Region teams? Has anybody seen the complete list or even the South's All region list?

Someone asked me this question the other day. Since technically all teams are still in the running for an at-large berth (at least teams with decent records) can these teams be practicing like Millsaps? I know the week limit comes into play but Millsaps is out of weeks? Anybody? I see this as a big grey area. I imagine some teams take advantage of this, but it really hurts the spirit of d3.

Frank,
Can you give us an update on Millsaps? Are they practicing? Intrasquads? Whats the mood around the baseball team?

Great weekend for Hendrix...I tried to watch most of the games and they just outplayed every team. The diving/ game saving catch the CF made against Trinity on Saturday was the play of the tournament in my opinion.
If you said Hendrix would finish #1 in the SCAC and Centre would finish #3 at the beginning of the year or shoot the beginning of the tourny everyone would have called you crazy..congrats to both teams.
No way Millsaps is left out of the tournament, no way. Baseball is a marathon and even though they had a tough weekend, they were clearly the best team in the SCAC over the entire season.
let the waiting begin...

Millsaps just made an illegal substitution. The rule is on page 79-80 under Game pitcher is not the DH (10-player lineup). Hendrix is allowed to stay the DH, but he HAS to come in for Boyd. Boyd entered the game as the catcher. boyd should not have been allowed to enter the game.
doesn't matter Millsaps is struggling...and looks like they will lose this game. 2 and the que for Rhodes and Millsaps!

Richball: Calm down with all your talk. Centre has been playing some good baseball, but lets not forget they are still 9-21 overall (which hurts the SCAC b/c it will lower the QOW of teams in the tournament). Jones gives them a shot at winning a game, but he will not beat Millsaps.
Obviously, OU is very dissapointed with not making the tournament. Losing 4 conference games due to rain absolutley hurt them this season, they never played Centre and missed a game with sewanee. they had a good season but played their worst baseball at the worst time of the season. I think a injuries caught up to this team in the end. They lost their ace March 1st, their #1 catcher the second week of March, their #2 catcher during the Rhodes series and Sarisky had to leave the game at DePauw wth back issues. Not to mention Llano sat out a handful of games including two SCAC contest. But rain and injuries are all a part of baseball, no excuses. They had their chance and could not capitalize. I don't think they had all the pieces to win the tournament this year but they are going in the right direction. I would have loved to see a healthy Sarisky vs. Owen matchup. OU will regroup, early word is they are having a decent recruiting class and be in the hunt again next year.
Good luck to all of the teams! I think Millsaps and Trinity are too deep not to win the tournament. Millsaps will go to the NCAA no matter what, so maybe the best thing for the SCAC is to have a team like Trinity or Rhodes win this thing and get two teams in the NCAA.
Does anyone know if all the games will be shown via video?

OU took one on the chin last night as emory thrashed them for 21 runs. OU did start tuttle one of two seniors but I heard he was only scheduled to pitch one inning last night in prep for DePauw. Other than that OU was just plain bad last night, tons of errors, no hitting and poor pitching. To me it looked like a team that was focused on DePauw...not emory. Well, now dePauw is next on the scheulde...going to be a fun weekend in the SCAC.

Two things:
1. Don't count out the East folks....don't do it. There is some damn good baseball being played in the SCAC East.
2. I don't think Bronson pitches the 1st game of the tournament for Trinity. More on that next week.

OU swept a doubleheader from Sewanee on a foggy, windy, chilly Saturday. OU was down 1-0 in game one with Sewanee starter Bareski (SP) dominating the Petrels. But once again the Petrels found a way to score a couple of runs in the 7th on some timely hits and Sarisky came in and closed the door.
Game two saw starter Hale throw a CG, six-hitter giving up just one unearned run. OU pounded out 15 hits including 4 from Llano, 2 from Rizzo and 3 from Brazenas.
Petrel pitchers gave up just two runs, one earned in 18 innings. And only walked one batter.
Game 3 was postponed and will be played on Monday (Sewanee can't play on Easter). Of course the weather forecast looks rainy for monday.

Tough 3-2 loss for the Petrels at Emory today. OU led 2-1 entering the 8th but was unable to hold the lead and eventually lost in the bottom of the ninth. Sarisky obviously was not available today after 4+ innings last night. Good game, both teams had good pitching performances. OU had bases loaded in the top of the 9th with one out and was unable to push across a run.
OU is off to Sewanee this weekend looking to get into the top three in the east...Sewanee is a tough place to play but I think this team is ready.

Mosby was a man against boys this weekend. He hit three majestic home runs, two to right center and the other to deep left. Tremendous hitter, but to say he made sterling plays in the field is stretching it a bit. He made 5 errors in two games and the 1B saved at least a few more. Rhodes has solid pitching, their top 5 hitters (minus a struggling 4 hitter) are as good as they get but defensively besides Bizzell they are shaky. They put themseves in a good position with a series win this weekend.

I've seen Sarisky pitch a few times this year and I've seen the speed guns as well. The night I saw him he was 90-93 and hit 94 twice. There is no doubt this kid can throw the ball that hard. He is only a sophomore and has outstanding mechanics.

A little quite on the board in the last couple of days. But with big SCAC games upcoming I have a feeling that will change quickly.
Quick Note:
I talked with someone familar with the OU program and b/c of a few rainouts OU will play D1 Georgia State April 1st at Georgia State. This is the same Georgia State that just beat #3 Georgia Tech 10-1 this week. I can't imagine OU having a ton of pitching for this game as they play Rhodes April 3-5... Georgia State is not Notre Dame but nonetheless they are D1.

Oglethorpe blasted North Central 24-4 tonight to win their 9th straight...Llano had 2 HR's, and I think 7 RBI's...
Big test for them this weekend as they travel to BSC. ..should be a fun series with both teams playing extremely well. SCAC East will start to shape up here in the next couple of weeks...
