It will be interesting to see Peterson recruits to fill the departing seniors shoes?
Coe is very young after this season, lets see how Peterson does with her own
recruits.

Looks like the Norse proved me wrong and Simpson's lack of playing in a close game and ft shooting hurt them.  Simpson went the last 8+ minutes without scoring a fg.  Kudos to Luther.

IIAC Standings as of today:

Simpson 11-1
Luther 9-3
Coe 9-4
Dubuque 6-7
BV 6-7
Loras 6-7

Wartburg 4-8
Cornell 3-9
Central 2-10

The top six will play in the conference tourney starting Feb 24 at the highest seed.  Top 2 seeds have 1st round
bye.

I think that Simpson has sent a message to the rest of the league that they are
going roll through the rest of the regular season and the iiac tourney.  Looking at
tomorrow's games this is what I think:

BV over Cornell
Coe over Dubuque in a tight game, might come down to the last shot
Simpson big over luther, the norse can't score over 60pts on a night & Simpson
had that at half last night....a bad storm rollin' into decorah!
Loras gets a win at home over the 'Burg

Did Simpson play that well or did Central play that bad?

Games from Thursday:

Coe over Loras 66-61
UD beats Cornell by 20, 59-39 (Cowan didn't play)
Simpson smashes Central by 79, 120-41

If anyone is curious, I was 4-0 on the Wednesday games.

In the only women's game tonight, BV beats Wartburg by 18 at Wartburg.  Does anyone have details on
the game?

The Cornell @ Dubuque w/m games are postponed.  That's the only one I've seen so far.

My predictions for Wednesday's games:

BV over Wartburg
Simpson big over Central (how did Central win 2 games?)
Dubuque in a close one over Cornell
Coe beats Loras in a scrappy game (didn't Loras start 10-0, have only won 3 of last 10-did they
play anyone in the non conference?)

I think Coe is one team that nobody wants to play come tournament time.  They are a scrappy team and they refuse to  quit.
Another team would be BV as a darkhorse to make a run at the tourney.  BV is 1/2 game behind Wartburg
for the 6th seed in the conference tourney.  With their shooters and ability to score a lot of points, they could cause problems for some teams down the stretch.

Saw the stats of the Coe-Luther game.  Luther scored 12 points in the 2nd half?  What happened?
Now Coe & Luther are tied for 2nd place it's getting very interesting.

I don't coach or play in the conference, but I have friends that attend some of the IIAC schools, so I hear
these things from them.  Also I'm not accusing anybody of anything, just trying to find out what's happening at the schools to see if what I'm hearing is true.
The second time through the conference schedule should be interesting with a fight for the second seed in the tourney coming in the Coe-Luther game Saturday.  If Luther wins I think they should be able to get the second seed even if they don't beat Simpson.  If Coe wins I think they are going to have rely on Norris to carry them.  Their outside shooters have been very inconsistent by looking at the stats.
Anyway should be a great race to the finish!
