Has anyone heard about Cortland this year or Brockport and how they will be with players. Speaking of transfers from both schools, Kris Gentske and Mike Avery both went to Brockport and ended up going to Cortland, but Brockport did get a Cortland guy this there as well. Palmiero ended up transferring last I heard so Brockport did end up getting a solid infielder it should be interesting when the two teams play eachother.

P.S. Matt Tone is tearing it up in Single A!

Well Starvin Marvin I am going to have to disagree with you because if you follow college baseball. I said that Palmiero would play at second base this because of Vittalone's loss and Nickel would play SS. I also said it will be fun to see how those two play together it should be a fun year. If you already haven't heard Cortland was able to get the #1 preseason ranking from collegiate baseball, that is a great honor for a great program. Everyone have a great holidays!

I am very excited to see that the brackets were changed for the world series. It was not fair at all for Cortland last year it was a near impossible and uphill battle after the first loss to Trinity. Those two teams should never of played the first game, just doesn't make any sense. Well since it is changed I am anticipating this years Cortland State team i know they lost alot, but I almost positive they have enough talent to fill the holes. Based on what i saw last year they are not weak in any area. There infield will be very exciting to watch. I want to see how Nickel and Palmiero work together this year, they finally will play consistency it should be good. Don't forget about Gardner and Tone who should also contribute to this years chance of winning any title. The outfield will be solid with Mike Avery and the Dimino brothers that should also be fun to watch. Well I'm looking forward to this year good luck Cortland!

Any starting projections for Cortland's team next year, I have a good idea I think but open to any possibilities.

Gardner C, Merriweather 3B, Nickel SS, Palmiero 2B, A. Dimino RF, Avery LF, K. Dimino CF

And of course the pitching will be there with Tone being the number one next year

So will be the impact players for next year for crtland when they lose thos eniors? My bet would be the transfers he brought in they will get there share next year....they all have alot of talent. Coach Brown has 2 .400 hitters that being adam dimino and nick palmiero who will probobly play secong nxt year after russo leaves and a great pick up mike avery from brockport who will be in center.....Cortland should be fine this year and years to come......!

pudge27 i know what you meen about the 9 guys on the field....that doesn't meen that those guys are going to have good years....where there is talent....it should be able to get a crack at the lineup...coach brown didn't bring good tranfers in who already have experience to sit the bench.....they will do fine!
