I agree with wes too... but there is seeding to think about!
This is just as much of a must win for Depauw in terms of not getting bounced in the 1st round on the road!?

Am I wrong? Am I wrong?

Can we all agree that this year is the "biggest" bell game in anyone's memory?
I am sure Ings in the Snow will probably go down as a better game, but this thing has some serious potential that makes my spin tingle

Knott kinda had that "Peyton Manning vs Florida" thing going....

Enter the Monon Miracle  http://www.depauw.edu/news/index.asp?id=11760

I hope it doesn't take a Miracle (Figurative, or QB), but I wanna see Hudson get his.

Author's Note: I used to watch the "Ballad of the Monon Bell" to get me pumped for this week, Now I just watch "Heartbreak as Depauw loses Bell at Buzzer" haha thanks to Depauw for putting so much video a click away!

The 14 team conference is an interesting thought... but you neglected a conference championship game.

How does that all play out in reality?

Wally-
I went to Wabash back in the day. I say went, because I transferred. But rest assured, I am not a Danny.

I called it the "Harvard of the Midwest" because that is either what they were calling themselves when I was being recruited there, or it is what my friends who did attend said about the place and their mission or some crap.

anyway, I am a little disappointed that this hasn't inspired the conspiracy theorists. I am not in the loop enough to know my elbow from my you know what when it comes to the D-3 stuff anymore, all I know is what I read on here.

I can't believe there hasn't been any talk about Depauw joing the NCAC

#16- I was just alluding to the fact that Depauw has been known to compete, and even beat Wabash... Who, might I add, has had a stranglehold on the NCAC in recent history. I was in a rush last night and couldn't edit my thoughts.

But back on the subject, Depauw competes in virtually all its sports. Women's basketball won national titles and men's football is a solid Tier 2.1 team.

Does anyone else feel like adding them to the conference would be a huge positive?

Is the conference academically esteemed enough for the "Harvard of the Midwest" to even consider joining?

I thought this would be interesting discussion, because talking over one another about tie-breakers that won't happen (WITT won't lose) is pretty futile at this point.

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I have heard talk in the past about Depauw looking to switch conferences and I haven't read it on the board since Earlham dropped out of the NCAC... Has there been any rumblings about depauw getting back in the right region and cutting on travel by joinging the NCAC?
Not to mention the way they have destroyed Wabash on occasion, the AQ that would be available... It has got to look enticing... Right?
Again, sorry if this has already been discussed

The other opening game loss for Wabash during this stretch was against Kalamazoo in 2003, but they didn't play in week 1 either, so the bye wasn't relevant there.

Remember that 2002 game? I was in that locker room at half time and during the weather delays... I have never seen a team that was prepared to (and eventually did) dominate its schedule like that team did... Words can not explain the shock of that locker room.
Creighton dropped the ball that day, and there were just enough lightning storms to give him time to figure something out.
I can't imagine how that ladder we built that year would have looked with the first rung missing!

Is that Ivy League recruit the OL from Cville?

Did he stay in shape/  will he step right in and play?
Do you know what his other options are?

anybody got the dirt on what Kellen Lewis did to get booted out of spring practice? I did an exhaustive 5 minute internet search and couldn't find anything... ;D
indiana can't seem to find a dull moment these days!

sorry to be off subject here, but I was doing some online research and came across the name Aaron Lafitte... I wasn't around the message boards when he played at Wabash, but I was wondering why he left.
He was a terror back in 2003 and then he just vanished off the map... Wondering why he left wabash

I was reading back a few pages about that 2002 Wabash defense. Those guys were tough. Someone mentioned Stu's knockout shot at Gheny... But no one mentioned the hits that Boulais used to put on people... I remember vividly the defense coming over to the sideline on a big hit and subsequent fumble by Boulais... and counting the guy out as he was getting the smelling salts.

If that doesn't say enough, my forehead used to bleed at practice from hitting Boulais. Inside running drills were a train wreck every time. I have a bump on my forehead like a Neanderthal from that SOB... just kidding, but you could imagine right!

Do you think they will mention BB16's proficient posting skills at his induction?
Congrats and thanks for keeping us informed
