After Webster held off Fontbonne I am expecting to see some good Gorloks basketball tonight. I was blown away by the double over time game. It was one of the best games I have ever seen.

If you can not make it to the Webster/Maryville game tonight, do not forget that you can tune in by visiting http://www.webster.edu/galaxy

Hey guys,

It's been a while since I've posted and I wanted to do two things. I have a question for you all and also some news to pass along.

First the question. What do you think the identity of Webster University's men's team will be without the presence of a true big man?

And now the news:

Webster's Student Voice: The Galaxy will once again be providing coverage of both Men's and Women's Basketball this season. Here is a schedule of our broadcasts:

Wednesday 12/10 - vs Ronald Morris (W)/Wheaton (M)

Wednesday 1/7 - vs Fontbonne (Both)

Wednesday 1/14 - vs Maryville (Both)

Saturday 1/17 - vs Eureka (Women only)

Wednesday 1/28 - vs Westminster (Both)

Saturday 2/14 - vs Blackburn (Men only)

Saturday 2/21 - vs Greenville (Women only)

Wednesday 2/24 - vs Principia (Both)

*Women's games tip at 6, Men's at 8pm**

to listen visit: http://www.webster.edu/galaxy.

Thanks and enjoy the games!

Sorry, no Saintscast tomorrow.  The live feed for the webcast hasn't really worked all year but for a couple of games.  We figured since Webster has a webcast that is up and running well, there was no need to do it.

I'm sure the former players would rather listen to a neutral webcast from a Webster guy instead of Tim and I's meaningless blabber.  :D

I regret to inform you that The Galaxy will not be broadcasting tomorrow's SLIAC Tournament Finals game featuring (#4) Maryville vs (#3) Fontbonne.

We could not get full cooperation from The Galaxy staff and will not be able to do the game. Thanks to all of those who listened to our coverage of Men's Basketball. You can catch coverage of Webster Baseball coming later this spring..

Thanks again.

FC, as J_Clem has said, Webster is working on broadcasting the finals.  However, nothing is certain at this point.  At the very least, the live stats will be available.

Hey guys as of now the broadcast is still being planned.  it is looking like in order for there to be a broadcast, I would be running the board in the studio and two other people would be calling the action (not my favorite idea) but i think we owe it to the teams and to the fans that we broadcast the finals

Thanks to all of those who listened to the broadcast tonight.

We are currently trying to set up a broadcast of the Championship game on Saturday. I will let you guys know if we're covering it or not... I want to do it, but we have some things to work out first..

Back to the action though as two teams proved alot tonight.
Fontbonne made a statement and are considered the favorite, in my opinion, to win the tourney. No disrespect to the Maryville team. They came into our house and knocked us off..hats off to them. But I just was amazed at how well Fontbonne played. I like them because of the play of Storandt and Fogerty. Though Maryville does have good guard play with Saxton and McGrath.

great game between Greenville and Webster tonight.

I completely agree with panther. The scoreboard really doesnt show how close this game was.

Cochran had 24 points and Ellis had 10 for Greenville.
Turk had 25 points and Kuhn had 14.

Webster's D stepped up big in the 2nd half after trailing by 2 at the break.

Meeh saw a lot of playing time for the Gorloks in this one. I am personally looking forward to seeing both Cochran and Meeh mature and play more in the future, as they are both freshmen.

Team effort gets Webster the win. 11th straight (longest winning streak in team history) and 17th straight conference win (also a school record)....

Webster over Greenville 82-64

You are very welcome BunchTime.

I was not aware of the great success the seniors had in the past. It was a good story.

I wonder, what are your predictions for the team record while the 4 Freshman are on the squad.. (Meeh, Trippett, Jones, Restoff)

In response to earlier questions about The Galaxy. The website is brand-new. We are in the process of working all the kinks out. Everything on the site works. It just takes a while to load. It will get better as time goes on though...

I just checked the new Webster athletic website and saw the clip that NBC Channel 5 (St. Louis station) did on the Gorloks.  Here it is for all that are interested:

Hopefully that link works.  If not, go to www.websterathletics.com and click on men's basketball and you will find it!

Pretty nice story!

that is a good story. glad to see the Gorloks getting some local attention and even better DIII getting attention.

The Webster - Fontbonne game was one of the best I have ever seen. What did you guys make of the WU play-by-play team if you happened to catch the game online?

I look forward to seeing Fontbonne and Webster face off again in the SLIAC Tournament.
