South Region / Re: South Region '09

so if millsaps does travel and SU gets the No. 1 seed, that would probably push Shenandoah to No. 2 and NCWC to No. 3. Wash. and Lee picks up one of the last two spots with the automatic from the ODAC.

Does this mean if the committee decides to bring in a champion from the one of the Mid-Atlantic conference that CNU or Methodist will not get in? What are the chances of the South Region getting 7 teams this year? I think it will be 6, but if they bring in an automatic bid from another conference, will the South Region get to go with one more team?

Yea Jim, I have been doing a little bracketology, and I coul really see MIllsaps getting sent to the central or mideast. To be honest, those locations are probably closer to Millsaps given that this year's South Regional tournament is not in Virginia, but on Maryland's eastern shore. The central, mideast, and midwest all really lack solid #2 seeds, apart from Wooster, which would be a good #2 seed behind heidelberg in the Mideast.

Ok, say Millsaps does get sent to another region. Who would then be the number one seed in the south? Do you think Salisbury is a legit No. 1 seed for that region. I completely forgot about Birmingham-Southern and their eligibility in D3. As I have looked more and more, it seems that CNU should get that final bid and as much as everyone doesn't want it Shenandoah is going to get in. It suchs because Methodist should be in there as well and they are much more deserving than any of those Mid-Atlantic bubbles.

BTW, has anyone seen what Eric Groff is going up at Keystone College? The guy is going nuts at the plate.

VWC is down 2-0 to HSC heading into the bottom of the 4th. The Marlins went with senior Brett Horowitz. I am very suprised that Bulman did not start. With Lynchburg losing first game, you would have to think VWC has the best chance if they can come back against HSC

Guilford losing two to ODAC doormat, Eastern Mennonite, will most certainly come back to haunt them. They have now lost one to Emory and Henry and two to EMU.

Salisbury defeats York 30-6 in the first game of the doubleheader. That is not a typo either, the final score was 30-6.

Okay so heres the deal why this is a problem. York's head coach left the third pitcher in to give up 18 runs in 2 innings. Not only is this a serious problem with me but the kid that was left out to dry was a freshman. He gave up 15 hits and two walks as well in those 2 innings. I were to guess, the kid may have thrown over 100 pitches in the in his outing.

His statistics are ruined for the entire season. Most likely, the kid is going to be shaken for not only this season but for years to come. His chances of getting into a quality summer league have dwindled. I dont care if he has run out of pitching, bring someone else in.

Okay, so I am no longer a doubter of Guilford's Kyle Wooden. It is 23 games in and the kid is batting .575. He's slugging a .975 clip and has 78 total bases already. He is flat out raking and I recant any statement that was said about him earlier.

Does anyone have any idea of what kind of glove he has and if hes playing summer ball anywhere?

VWC defeats Tufts, 14-5. Marion has four RBIs and CJ Rhodes has two hits. Samuels gets lit up again as he went just one inning and a third, giving up four earned. With Bulman and Samuels struggling so much, I wonder where VWC is going to go in terms of a third starter after Baker and Pisula.

I was just checking out Salisbury's out of conference schedule and I noticed it looked pretty weak. Anybody else think that? I haven't even heard of some of those teams. And one of their losses was to York College, who I know Greensboro beat this season. Any thoughts on their schedule strength?

get a clue quaker. salisbury plays plenty of tough teams such as cortland, york, mary washington, va wesleyan, nc wesleyan, to name a few. im looking at guilford's schedule and see you guys losing to southern virginia, case western reserve, haverford, etc. dont worry, when it is all said and done, salisbury will be in good shape while your oxymoron quakers are sitting on their thumbs.

Salisbury wins its third game in a row down in florida. check out this phenomenal statistic...

Notre Dame transfer, Ryan Smith, hits two three-run homeruns in the first inning and totals nine RBIs in the first five innings of the game.

Talk about a MAN game.
