Dynasty,
what were you thinking, I'm a newbie too, but I don't go attacking these other posters.  They've been posting for almost as long as you've been alive... they know more than you'll ever know about MIAC basketball.  just give us your opinions about the game and nothing more at this point.  Watch your boy in their next game and get back to us if you still think he's classy.

Also, it's prime time performer, not prime time player, but you would already know that since you've followed college hoops for so long.

Here's a fun fact:
Last night I noticed with about 8 minutes left that the fouls were 7 against st. thomas and 2 against GAC, and I was hoping that the bad calls were finally starting to stop being called.
At the final whistle, the fouls were 7 against st. thomas and 10 against GAC.
gustavus committed the last 8 fouls of the game, and st. thomas was not called for a single foul the last 8 min.

I am a senior at GAC, and have been a die-hard gustie fan since my first game.  I sat in front of a few past gustie players tonight and I heard them talking about the refs before the game began, so I knew we were in for a long night.  I'm not gonna say they were only bad towards GAC, the two in question made horrible calls all night against both teams.  There were just a few situations that were appalling no calls:
Wittwer dunk attempt when he obviously was hacked and when Schmidtknecht was sandwiched between two tommies to force a turnover with under 2 min. left.  All I'm asking is that the refs don't decide the outcome of the game, and they did that by forcing wittwer to sit down.

My one memory of the night that i will cherish for a long time, i think paulson partially blocked a shot about midway through the 2nd, and the ball went up against the backboard.  Wittwer leaped up and grabbed the ball off the glass when it was about halfway up the backboard.  he literally jumped out of the gym to grab that ball.
It was even better than espenson's dunk in the closing minutes of the first round game in 2005.
