Fun Facts regarding Plattsburgh Bracket:

Kevin Broderick (Nazareth Coach) and Kevin Grimmer (SUNYIT Coach) both use to coach in the SUNYAC. Broderick at Oswego and Grimmer for the same team.

Floyd Thorne of SUNYIT use to play at nearby Paul Smith's College.

Medaille coach Mike Macdonald use to play in PBA basketball tourney in the Burgh. This was an adult men's tournament that use to show case a lot of former college players that once played their games in the North Country. (I.E. Mike Deane, Rick Carlisle, etc.)

Pat,

In reference to the Plattsburgh Bracket. I think the Basketball Cards will have the communities full attention. Hockey Cards on road in Oswego for SUNYAC Title on Saturday night.

Also Baseball Cards on road in Myrtle Beach which will open up more seats for the locals to take a look at the team.

Glad to see Coach Grimmer headed back to the North Country!

Thanks! I'm tuning in on the SUNY-Brockport web site!!!!!! Go Eagles!!!!

magicman: Why are the stats so far behind your update of SUNY-Brockport game?
#5
SUNYIT wins 85-77. Elms shot a woeful 9-32 from behind the arc.  ::) ::) Wildcats will face St. Lawrence who will have home court advantage. The Saints took down Brooklyn College earlier in the evening.

Congratulations to SUNYIT and Coach Grimmer for knocking off #11 Elms! This is the first NCAA victory for the boys from Utica. Even though you left the SUNYAC you still have SUNY in your name!!!!

I believe that Amherst has a team that is clearly good and has been dominating this division for sometime now.... however, Olsen does not get his credibilty from his defense and I wasn't calling him "wimpy" because I believe he is the whole key to Amherst's success the past few seasons, basically take him out of the mix no national title..... furthermore the other guards are wimpy and will be exposed by my boy from Urry, and Hopkins who is the biggest wimp of them all (literally) will be shut down by #41..... and when I say shut down I mean he will literally sing R Kelly's remake "Piss on you" to Hopkins as he throws at least one down on his face..... get ready for some nut juice

The Line remains at Amherst +2

Hope once again is going to be the clear favorite because I am NAstradmos and they will win by 6. Then win the national title.... any questions or comments will be unneccesary at this point since this post exceeds the intelligence of any other post on this site
your intelligence is amazing...what insight.

HaHa,

You better get a refund on that crystal ball.  :P :P :P Amherst vs. Wash U - Tonight - Be there!!

For those born and raised on the Great Lakes, Lake Champlain is a pond.

Yeah, but some there tried to get it officially declared the sixth Great Lake! :D

And ya gotta admit, it a 'pretty good' lake.

All the Pro Bass Fisherman think it's one of the best lakes in North America. We've hosted top tournaments here many times over the past 5 or 6 years. It may not be as big as any of the Great Lakes but I'm willing to bet it's quite a bit cleaner. And of course we have something none of the Great Lakes have: Champy, the Lake Champlain monster.
now that's what i am talking about...bass fishing!!! largemouth and smallmouth bass i assume...i haven't fished for smallies in years. any suggestions for a dad and his soon to be graduating son for a fishing trip? probably no longer than 4 days.

Four days in Adirondacks fishing any where on the chain of Saranac Lakes would be a wonderful vacation for a father and son. Don Jones at Jones Outfitters in Lake Placid could hook you up with the details.

The House that Jerry built is a very nice gym. Also named after Jerry Welsh former coach at Potsdam State. To bad there haven't been any fans in there for college basketball since the 80's :( :( :( :( :( :(

Go to Potsdam.edu/Athletics. You will see some photo's

Rumor has it one of the Brandeis fans spotted "Champy" on their way over to the Burgh the other day. Then again some one told me they also had indulged in a case of Sam Adams during the trek from Beantown!!!!!!! Could have been the same person who said Amherst F****** sucks to one of our Amherst visitors ;D ;D ;D

A pond with beautiful scenery on both sides!!! On one side the Green Mountains and on the other the Adirondacks. Not to bad a view!! Plattsburgh is very lucky to be right in between!!!!!!!!!!!

btw, the plattsburgh people were great.

fpc85
Thanks for the compliment. Where did you end up staying & which restaurants did you venture into.

eclinchy,
Nice article on Amherst.

fpc85,

If you get the chance come back to Plattsburgh and the Champlain Valley in the Summer. The lake is great and the Adirondacks are right down the road if you want to go there. You may also want to sample the official snack food of the Plattsburgh area if you return. They are called "Michigan's"!!! They have nothing to do with the state but are a favorite of our area!!!
