DIII alums, Chris Heisey and Tim Kiely will be playing in the Arizona Fall League, Kiely on the Mesa Solar Sox and Heisey on the Peoria Saguaros. Not sure if there are other DIIIers playing in that league.

You'll have to forgive because I forget the names, but I think a case can be made that the kid that came in from third on the dropped third strike to put JHU ahead in Game 1 might not have been safe...looked out to me in a video replay...but I may be biased too since I know the pitcher in that Game 1...

The Cal. League has to be one of the most difficult league's in the country to pitch in. Lancaster alone averages a 20 mile per hour wind blowing out (always blowing out based on its location) and 2 weeks ago it had sustained 40 mph winds....how can anyone pitch in that...That stadium is also the reason the Red Sox relocated from there this season...they couldn't get an accurate gauge on their prospects...hitter's numbers were inflated for the better, and pitcher's numbers were inflated for the worse...

Quick update on Tim Kiely (Trinity College, CT): Including closing a Major League Spring Training Game against the Royals, Tim went 16 innings this spring without giving up an earned run...He has been moved out of the bullpen and back into the starting rotation and will be starting this Saturday for the Advanced A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (LAA Angels) of the California League.

Tim Kiely of Trinity CT is currently pitching for the Cedar Rapids Kernels of the Midwest League (Class A - LA Angels). He is 5-1 with a 2.00 ERA and 2 Saves in 21 appearances since his call up from Orem of the Pioneer League (rookie) on June 26th. Cedar Rapids begins its first round playoff series today against TX Rangers affiliate, Clinton Lumber Kings.
Of note is that Jimmy Dougher (Cortland State) is also pitching in the Midwest League Playoffs for the Lansing Lugnuts. Looks like he has had himself a good year as well.
