While it is not proper for a team to look ahead to the end of the season, I am no longer an active CNU player and can do as I please  ;D

With such a great start out of the blocks and the success of the past 3 seasons, CNU is primed to do something that hasn't been done since year 4 of the program. That is the seniors going 4 years with 4 championships. The first time around, 14 players from the 1st team remained on the 4th championship team. Thus they were annointed "The 14". Since that 1st group, only one other player has won 4 championships in 4 years of play (without ever losing the conf championship). The 15th guy you can figure out. There's some good trivia for you. Haha.

More importantly, 13 players on CNU's current roster have the potential to join that elite group of CNU champions. 4 for 4. Make it happen!

Sure, lemme just lay out which weapons are most effective for us. Would you like a copy of our playbook and play calling tendencies as well?

It's been a long time! I see most of the same old faces are chatting it up. I hope you are all doing well. Ive been at the CNU games but haven't had time to check the forums (Got a big boy job).

It appears the conference is more balanced than ever (from watching CNU games). Unfortunately I don't think it says much for our conference. CNU is definitely weaker than in past years yet is on top again. Ferrum has a pretty good squad and CNU shows moments of brilliance but overall the games have been evenly matched.

With that said, I am nervous for saturday. CNU is going to have a tough game.

Let's Go Captains!

Kean amassed an impressive 18 yards in the 2nd half.

Turnovers...will...kill...you

With 1:30 left in the 2nd quarter the score was 14-7 Kean over CNU. Then we hand the game to Kean by throwing 3 picks inside our own 40. The sick thing is that in the 2nd half, Kean did not even get one first down. CNU defense was overall outstanding and only allowed one drive all day. Everything else started inside the 30 yard line. It's a sick way to lose a ball game.

Another side note. I just checked the UMHB bracket which includes west, south and east teams. They have a texas sub-bracket (Trinity vs. McMurry) and a west coast sub-bracket (Linfield and Cal Lutheran). No big deal. What is odd is the team the west coast teams have to play next. Either Wesley(Delaware) or Hobart(New York)! Wow. Guranteed at least one cross continental flight coast to coast.

This is for sure the oddest overall playoff bracket I have ever seen.

I have never seen such a chopped and mixed bracket. I don't know if you can even give it a cardinal direction. As in the "West Bracket". Technically UW-Whitewater is a West team. We are south obviously along with Thomas More. Then thrown in some east teams (salisbury, kean and W. New England) and top it off with Albion and Franklin from the North.

Not sure why they avoided sending us to Salisbury (closest in proximity). Then Kean couldve played Western New England (Short drive). To me that makes sense. Maybe the NCAA didnt want the rematch?

Either way, I think we can make some noise. It's hard to say how good they really are. We will find out saturday that's for sure.

I know I will be there. Any other CNU crazies going to the game?

Who do you see for Coach of the year? . . . Is it an automatic that conference champion get this award?

It has pretty much been that way except for when CNU won 4 straight championships. The 3rd and 4th year it went to a team that wasn't expected to have as much success as they did.

Yeah, I think it all comes back to that Stevenson game. Still it is always interesting to see what the NCAA does. The south bracket is always interesting with the tendency to conserve money by creating the "Texas sub-bracket". Which essentially allows a home game to the 5th seeded team. Unfortunately, this year we have a very strong McMurray team in 5th which is also from texas. I think they get in with an at large bid. Im seeing Trinity(3) vs. Mcmurray(5) in round 1. Hopefully we can get a Hampden-Sydney and/or Thomas More loss this weekend. If not I fear we may make the long trek to Texas to face UMHB.

Honestly, depending how the east shakes out, I could see us getting shipped to the east bracket. I have looked at any of the qualifiers in the East.

I just checked and saw the 200 mile rule. That being said, our record (in region) stands at 7-1 with the one loss to Salisbury who is ranked #2 in the east. That Stevenson loss is really rearing it's ugly head. Stevenson is sitting at 2-7 overall.

CNU needs a statement game(and a little help from other teams) in this final week to have a chance for a home game. Here's hoping.

I was thinking that CNU had a shot to get a home playoff game based on our regional record. I was thinking we were undefeated IN REGION. However, they are showing us as 7-1 in region? Stevenson and Salisbury are both eastern division teams though???? What's the story on this? Maybe we could hear from Pat on how this is determined.

Congrats to CNU. Finish out this week without any injuries and gear up for the playoffs! I just looked back on the completed portion of the schedule and it's pretty solid. Only two losses, one of which was a 3 point OT loss and the other a 4 point loss to the #10 team in the nation. I wouldn't be suprised to make some noise in the playoffs. The defense is pretty solid and the offense seems to be picking up steam. This 3rd string QB was highly recruited by D1 schools before injury changed the schools' minds. We are fortunate to have such a deep roster. The exciting thing for me is that many of our standouts are freshmen and sophmores.

I know there will be some scary names in the South bracket but I like our chances against anyone of the whole damn pack.

We have FM 99.1 locally here in the Newport News area. That always comes in loud and clear for me. I don't bother with internet feeds unless it's video. Oh well.

Really wish I could be there. 48 hours til the conference championship.
