Averett 17-3 over methodist

Maryville 14-7 over ferrum

CNU 41-10 over greensboro.....Jay Grahm gets 2 30+ fg's.  Greenseboro doesnt score until 2nd and 3rd team gets in.

Crazylegs, cnualumn9, cnu85 and 54 are all invited to the tailgate.....lets get it on game day style.

I hate rankings, so im not even worried about who's in the top 25 or not.  What matters the most is the end of the season and taking each game as it comes.  If CNU does what it needs to do and continues to get better every week they will be fine and hopefully make it to the playoffs.  thats what is great about d-3 football, we have a playoffs system which gives everyone a chance to prove themselves on the football field.  my pics this week are:

Averett over methodist- i dont think methodist will win a conference game this year

Maryville over ferrum by a fg

CNU over Greensboro by 3 td's

I'll be a pomoco tailgating like crazy, bring it on CNU alumn and anyone else who wants to join.  We will be set up along the fence line by the old practice field now the new field hockey/lacrose field.

I think everyone should shut the hell up about this private vs public issue, its a waste of time and posts.  CNU has helped put the USA south on the map and has raised the playing level of the other teams in the conference.  I was at the CNU Shenadoah game lastnight and ill tell you this, every team in our conference plays us like its a playoff game and that is what conference play should be like every week.  The energy level is always cranked up a notch when CNU comes to town and all of you know that.  I played for CNU for 5 years and by no means have we ever thought we were just gonna roll right over everyone in the conference.  We realize the conference hates us but we take that hate as respect and i enjoyed every team that gave us their all everytime we played them.

One of the main reasons we are tough is because our coaching staff knows how to recruit, and by no means do they stay in the hampton roads area.  Our coaches are recruiting all over the state of virginia and sometimes other states.  Also, coach K is constantly trying to challenge us with top notch non-conference games.  If every team in our conference jumped on the tough scheduling band wagon, maybe our conference could gain some national respect from  division 3 football.

I would like to say one more thing: SHenadoah has stepped it up as far as the atmosphere up there. Like I said I made the 4hr drive yesterday and it was a great time.  Plenty of room to tailgate, the new turf looks amazing, facilities look amazing ( i remember the tents and port a potties from my sophmore year).  The fans at shenadoah were loud and plentiful and their sideline was hyped up.  It was a great football experience, it was wierd being on the other side though ( rather of been suited up).  CNU travelled with the band and the cheerleaders, which was awesome.  I reallly feel like the band/cheerleaders should always travel.  It just makes the atmosphere that much better.

So to end my argument, by having CNU in the USA south has made everyone step it up a notch.  Im not saying Shenadoah's upgrades are direct reflections from having us in the conference, but it is nice to see others in our conference taking their programs to the next level.

Can't wait til next sat, the home field talget will be off the hook.

GO CAPTAINS!

Thanx for all the karma comments ya'll, i really needed that.  Well, A few of us are headed up to the CNU/SHenadoah game this sat and we are really looking forward to it.  Gonna get there early and tailgate for a few hours so it should be intresting, then OCT 11 at pomoco stadium we will throw down like bobby flay on the food network (sorry, im an ex olineman so I'm always thinking about food..hahaha) CNU85 should stop by and check us out.  Uncle jessie, I want to appoligize now for the A$$ wooping the hornets will be given this weekend. We can be friends on sunday but until then "IT"S ON!"

Good luck to everyone this weekend, Conference play is going to be intresting. I'm looking for an outright title this year but I know coach K and the boys will take it one game at a time and it starts at Shenadoah.

My picks:

Greensboro (of course because they have a bye)\

maryville (the boys from Tennessee will get the win)

Ferrum is too much for averett

I hate to pick outside the conference but methodist cannot get it done, sorry E&H all the way.

AND THE PICK OF THE DAY IS CNU OVER THE HORNETS..........27-0...Grahm gets 2 more fg's.

settle down I havent been on here in awhile and was just commenting on a situation that i was apart of.  And if you read what i wrote, I said that there were a few idiots that should be punch in the mouth.  I was embarrassed by those few guys like i said, I am from Memphis TN and was bragging to my teammates about the excitement for football in tennessee and all they can remember is drunk rednecks behind the fence of the endzone shouting racial remarks.  The atmosphere at Maryville was great and the players had great sportsmanship even while we were beating them.  The majority of the fans were awesome, and the tailgating looked great.  Growing up in west Tennessee Ive been to a bunch of UT games and Memphis state games so i know the fans in Tennessee are passionate about their teams, and we all know there is nothing anyone can do about ignorant people like the guys we have mentioned.

And I'll be done with that. Hopefully I will make the trip this year as a fan and we will see if CNU is greeted the same way.
