I was refering to the W&L QB. He decided to quit after the Sewanee game apparently.

Apparently he felt that given the time committment and where his academic career is, football had to take a backseat.  I can see that if you are helping the team and making a substantial contribution to the team, then you're willing to pile FB time on top of your academic time load. If you see that the program has headed off in another direction and "your services are no longer needed" then you revert back to the primary directive of your presence in college: the degree.

The QB quit. He saw the new OC wants to run his option offense and RJ is more a traditional QB. Westfall is an option QB. They pretty much gave Westfall the O from day 1 so RJ figured it wasn't going to get any better for him and he wanted to devote his time to his studies. The kid was FOY and now is out of the game. That's how quickly it can change in a program.

I watched the game on the internet and what I saw looked like a youth football league offense. This is an offense that better never be behind in the fourth qtr. It's a throwback to the single wing. The passing was terrible (yes it was raining) but F&M was able to muster 140+ yds of offense to 59 and completed some passes. W&L completed 2 of 14 for 12 yds. All the Dline has to do is get their arms up and the QB has a forest to throw thru. All 1-3 step drop passing of a play action.
