"Out of curiosity, why were you listening to the Hobart broadcast?  There are 200 ways to listen to the Union broadcast, including via smartphone and cell phone.  (No offense to Ted Baker, the Play-by-Play voice for Hobart -- he's the class of our League, but it sounds like you would've preferred the Union perspective)."

Link to WABY didn't work

TEAMLINE link took me to Hobart site and radio link

Morello is a senior.  Unanimous All Liberty League selection and a spot on the D-3 all region team.

Union's OL dominated the LOS.  Morello was last year's MVP on offense, an honor rarely given to a lineman.   I had to listen to the game from the Hobart announcers perspective.  They were constantly moaning about the huge holes being opened by the Union OL.   Coney was able to get into space and use his speed and tackle-breaking to make some uge plays.  I think Union may have found its identity on offense.  They are a smash-mouth running team, not the pass-happy finesse team of the last few years,

Union still needs to shore up the pass D and STs which have been their achilles heel in the early part of the season

Unin changed kickers (again).  Rapple kicked the game winner

Union kicked a 27 yd FG with 16 seconds left to win.  Hobart missed 3 FGs in the first half

Gro,

"Blood... boiling.... must... contain... rage...."

Nice reference to "Mystery Men"     LOL

That's BS.  Yes the D failed on the last drive, but they played pretty well.  Let's remember that  7 points were given up by the STs

Last drive started almost at midfield.  STs again

Turf doesn't explain KO return for TD.  Or poor coverage on others.  U of R started most drives after KOs at their 40 yd line.  It's not the first time this season that the specuals have been disappointing

Union STs were pathetic.  Long returns , one for a TD, and 3 missed PATs.  They played well enough to win.  This one hurts

Union also had a 37 FG blocked

P.S. Springfield ran up 500 yards of offense in their first game vs some tomato can

No question that Springfield is a young team that lost a lot to graduation.  However, I have seen Union's  D have problems with the option in the past and they bottled it up very well.  U had a lot of ?? on D due to graduation and they seem to have answered them positively in game #1.  On offense I think they will be a grind it out type of offense, capable of moving the chains and controlling the clock.  There is some big play capability.  40 yard bomb was dropped by a WR last night.

They just have to learn to limit mistakes in the red zone and finish drives.

Union could surprise

Agree.  Union dominated everywhere but on the scoreboard.  Two bad snaps and a sack hurt them badly in the red zone.  Could have easily been 28 0 after the first half.  Union D did a great job vs the option which has given them problems in the past.  One area of concern...punt returns.  I don't think the PR caught a punt all night.  Maybe it was the lights.

Union is excited, ready and confident.  The OL will punish the Springfield D.  Look for a big performance from Coney
