I find that I get as much satisfaction seeing Wabash beat Witt as I do seeing Wabash beat Depauw. I just don't particularly like the way that Witt has a disturbing habit of playing rough after the whistle. That has to be the way that they are coached..

Just lost the video stream. What a Mickey Mouse setup.

Over - 31-12 "Wabosh" prevails over Denison.

Let's face it. The "stretch" outfit which is producing the computer feeds is in way over its head.

The whole computerized thing seems to have died, and I do wish the play-by-play guy would realize that Denison is playing Wabash and not Wabosh.

One more comment on the Wabash/HSC game on Saturday..

How much did HSC learn to respect the defensive pressure that Wabash was applying?  How about HSC punting (quick kick) on a 3rd and 26 from their 4 yard line...  White flag moment or smart play?

I've seen field goal attempts on 3rd down,  but don't think I have seen a punt.

Back in the day when men were men and women were darn glad of it, Wabash played the single wing under Ken Keuffel. One quote attributed to him:  "The quick kick is an offensive weapon." I believe he was saying that it could significantly change field position.

Some gentlemanly observations re: Hampden Sidney v. Wabash game yesterday.

HS-C is one fine football team. Nance and his receivers can dominate a lot of games, and probably will.

Rumor is that Cody Buresh has said that his brother Ethan will be better than he. This, I sure am looking forward to seeing.

'Bash defense is incredibly good - perhaps even great!

I have been attending Wabash football games for over 60 years - since I started going with my dad in the '50's. I have seen some miserable officiating over the years, but the crew we had yesterday was probably the worst ever. Rumor has it the referee for that particular crew got called for Guard duty and the guy wearing the white hat was a virgin in that regard. The number of meetings he and his crew held indicated that someone sure didn't know what he was doing out there, and it had to be him.

The tailgates before and after the game were delightful.

I sure had a great afternoon.

Observations:  OWU v The Bash -
- Been to all three home games this year. OWU put up the best fight against The Bash  by far.
- OWU road unies are a disaster. Can barely read the numbers from the stands. Do the coaches want their players to be anonymous?
- A couple of the Bishop players let their attitudes get in the way of their game. They should let their game prove how good they are.

Oherwise, good game, Bishops and good luck the rest of the way.

Really tough to say just how good Wabash is, because Hanover was so inept. When a punter has his punt blocked by the back of his back field protecter and recovered by the opponent in the end zone for a TD on a team's  first series of downs,  one might suspect  that a bad day was looming.

In my humble, but accurate opinion, it would be unseemly to accuse Wabash of running up the score when som many scores came as a result of good defense.

It is interesting to note that ER did not have permit his second team offense throw one pass after they entered the fray late in the third quarter. It is also interesting to note that Hanover's second string QB did not throw a pass after suffering three interceptions. No doubt, the Hanover coach wanted to get out of town quietly and quickly.

Bash defense looks charateristically strong. In all probability, offense will come along. Putko did not go deep very often, but he certainly got into a grove. Tyler Holmes was a stud at RB.

All in all, it was an enjoyable experience on a beautiful day.

The DPU coaching situation is really befuddling. The Dannies cannot seem to put any fun in their dysfunctional situation. Remember the mystery surrounding the Walker firing? Local Danny alums are convinced that the administration in particular and this particular curret female AD do not want to help the football program in any shape, manner or form. I cannot conceive of Tom Mont or Ted Katula putting up with this bovine feces. With their pull with the alums, heads would roll, and it wouldn't be heads of football coaches.

45-7 - DOMINATING DEFENSE!

Wes Anderson to the contrary not withstanding, I don't think Depauw shot itself in the foot so much, I think that Wabash did the shooting.

I was a bit disappointed int the Little Giant offense, especially in the passing game, but never mind, Wabash rings the bell for another year.

I am basking in the afterglow of anther huge Monon Bell victory. So now, on to the playoffs with a 10-0 record.

Revisiting Saturday's game in C'ville.

Mrs. Geezer and I were leaving church yesterday when we saw a young man wearing a Wittenberg football sweatshirt. We struck up a short conversation. His name is CJ Taylor and is a freshman running back for Witt. He lamented that his offensive line was unable to protect the Witt QB, and thus, the offense couldn't do enough.

CJ is a nice young man. I almost felt sorry for him until I remembered that he decided to play for Witt and Joe Finchem.

For all of you going to Greendingle on Saturday, don't let the gestapo ruin your day.

Just got back to Indy after game and chow in C'ville. Glad to see  the NCAC gridiron trophy back in C'ville. Win over Witt was most gratifying, but a win over Finchem was even more so. (I must admit I don't care much for the man.)

Someone asked if a NCAC championship was better than a win over Depauw. Thankfully, there is no reason for the two to be mutually exclusive. Next year the latter could lead to the former.

It's Bell Week. On to Greendingle. Be prepared Little Giants. The Bell game is seldom easy.

Should have proof read my post. - Picture froze when the 'Bash was scoring second TD. Audio didn't match up with video.

This old geezer thanks you for your kind understanding.
