Can I just say that I really hope the Linfield players are thinking about the SCIAC this week as much as the Linfield fans are?  Maybe then they will forget they have a game tomorrow in Tacoma and we will win by forfeit!!!!  ;D

Gotta love UPS week... especially UPS week right before Willamette or Whitworth... Practice plan looked like this:
Monday: Film,
Tuesday: Next Opponent,
Wednesday: Next Opponent,
Thursday: UPS,
Bento Friday: Pregame Walkthrough,
Saturday: Play 1/2 a game.

Now don't take your ball and go home, we're having a good little conversation here... try and persuade me here big guy.. I want to believe in the power of the SCIAC.
Ok so when was the last time a SCIAC team won a national title? When did a SCIAC team advance passed the first round of the play-offs? How many times before getting the auto-bid did the SCIAC get multiple teams in pool B? If you're winning your conference title vs. the weak sisters of the south then your claim is not exactly meritorious.

Redlands has been playing football for close to 100 years. That's a pretty long time and they do have a long and proud history. Has Linfield enjoyed more overall success? Yep, they sure have.

You just reinforced my point about lack of respect. I guess I need to add you to the group along with Blue & GT. Not to nitpick your stats but Redlands did play for the 1976 NAIA Championship.

RFB not get in a pissing match but... what history are you talking about?

Since 1910
29 Conference championships, 5 NCAA 1st round play-off losses, and a 54% winning percentage...

Now the 29 Conference titles are kind of impressive (I'm not a huge fan of the overall strength of the SCIAC, few here are)... 54% winning percentage strikes me as being just above medicore.

Linfield is at 32 Conference titles, 4 national Championships and an impressive 68% winning percentage... oh yeah obligatory Streak reference too

RFB #1 the winky smiley means  it's a playful jab not a grand indictment so lower the the lasers. #2 I hate the 6 degrees of separation method of determining a better team, did ya beat Whitworthless? then you were better that day. Did ya beat Texas, hey maybe they're better than you.

The point I made about Linfield before and maintain now is, they were down for a couple of years before and they went on to win a whole mess of conference titles, playoff games, and eventually a national championship.

You said that a large portion of the Cat Nation are still reveling in past accomplishments; Part of the problem debating/arguing/banging your head against a brick wall with a Linfield guy is that our present and past are intertwined. The belief on our part (at least mine) with the traditions and history behind us the past is bound to repeat itself (as it has on the national stage 3 times, and the conference stage countless others)

RFB when was the last time Redlands played the Cats now? You can't dodge us and then bad mouth us ;) When was the last time Redlands beat the Cats? (For clarification Linfield has won all five games in this series and have outscored Redlands 211-77 over the five games.)

In my mind Redlands will always be known to me for being the birth of the Linfield spread offense. First game, 1999, came out in 2 backs power I pregame, then ran 3 wide single back all game long. :) that was fun!

The best part about Willamette's current offense is that it has even more threats than that. Jose Green, Deon Horne, Merben Woo, Marcus Woo, Jamiere Abney... All can run the ball, Many would start on most teams. That being said, many run from being split out. Even Senior FB Cody Anthony can rumble.
Even if the running game gets stopped (as it was at times vs. Linfield), Willamette can air it out.
I can't help but think that the thing that really makes all of those guys a threat is the O-Line for the Bearcats.  I don't suppose we'd see the offenseive "player" of the year be an entire Offensive Line.....  :)

I would have Nominated Agpalsa in '02... How do you not love the 5'8 200 pound offensive guard....

Stupid running backs always get the hardware... guess the fat guys have to settle for the girls.

In my defense I used to be a 1000 + poster but Life got REALLY busy.... To the Cat faithful I offer this...
1999 & 2001 saw 2 of the worst Butt-stompings I have ever been a part of.

1999 PLU came down to the dome and absolutely trashed us on their way to Salem my only memory of that game was Musser taking a knee at the end of the game; falling on our own sword so to speak. That loss laid the ground work for our program and behind Muss and Habby we reloaded and came back in 2000 with a pretty decent season until the $%#@ing miracle in the mud

2001 the first 3 weeks were rough, Trying to find a QB rotating Blake and Tyler. The 56 yards of total offense (minus 2 starters on the o-line, 3 if you count me playing Center)that game was surreal it was so god awful, PLU again came down and stomped our butts.... those 2 losses helped fuel the 2002 run,

If those losses and subsequent wins taught us anything; it taught us what needed to change in order for us to succeed. And in my opinion it's not coaches, it the mind-set that no matter what we will get it done.

WHEW!!!!!
Momma said it was cool... actually her words were "Great that means I can take a nap when I get home"  :)... Now looks like it's all up to the weather Gods.... Football in the rain is great for an O-lineman, FB in the rain sucks arse for a one year old!

so here is the conundrum, Momma doesn't get off until 3:00 on Saturday do I bring lil Buck to his first game all by myself? or do I wait until Mom can make it?

I hate the spread punt... it's hard to block everyone; what happened to the good ole days where you just lined up and kicked it.
