I haven't posted on here in a while. Thought I'd throw out there that it was announced today that Ott head coach Joe Loth has resigned and has accepted the HC position at Western Connecticut State University (D3). He coached there back in the 90's as an assistant. The AD has announced a search will start immediately. Wish him luck in his new spot. Tough timing for our program.

Why would he make that move?  He's an Ott alum and an Ohio guy.  And Western Conn is certainly not a destination job for a guy who has had some success in a tough conference.  Seems strange to me, but maybe he just wanted a change.  So the new AD has to find a football coach and a men's hoops coach now.  No easing into that new gig it seems.

There surely have been lots of changes around here. I don't think that's a bad thing, and that's nothing against either Coach Loth or Coach Reynolds. Both had been here a while and were ready to take on a new adventure. Loth's an Ohio guy but has spent a good amount of time coaching on the East coast. Also, his wife is from the WestConn area.

I've been impressed so far with the new AD. She's had a lot thrown at her in her first few weeks and has handled everything very well. I think having an AD who's only job is being the AD (not splitting time as bball coach) will be a benefit to the campus.

Not sure if I'll be able to get on here tomorrow or not but I wanted to thank all of the veterans around the country for everything they have done and continue to do to make this country as great as it is. I know there are some vets that post on here and regardless of what school you support, we all support you. Everyday needs to be Veterans day.

I think the economic realities of today, are starting to wreak havoc with the idea you should work two-three years, spending that kind of money for a shot at playing one or two years for Mount.

I would agree with that completely.  Does anyone know what the tuition is for Lake Erie College and Notre Dame College?  I have heard some parents say they are getting great offers to play at these schools which is probably taking kids from JCU and BWC away.  I know they are going to be D2 schools (which I dont agree with but for another conversation) but are they already offering scholarships?

I work pretty closely in the admission/financial aid side of recruiting at a certain OAC school (Go Cards). The issue of a DII school throwing more money at a family actually came up today in a phone call I had with a parent of a student athlete. The student has already been offered a pretty large sum in grant money to attend a DII school in Central Ohio and play volleyball. But, the mother even said to me, she would rather pay more to have her daughter attend a quality institution rather than just have her go somewhere else for more money. It was so nice to actually hear it said from a parent instead of trying to explain this fact over and over again. College is expensive. Hell, we're at 37k a year currently. But, it's also an investment. There are so many benefits to attending a small, private, liberal arts college like the 10 that make up the OAC. Money is a huge factor with a majority of the families we work with, especially student athletes, but it's refreshing to come across families that see higher education as investment in the students future rather than just a money sign.

just had to throw in my two cents...

Great pick by Ott fb. Gotta turn this into 6

Ott's D has shown up so far! BIG fourth down stop! LK must not have any confidence in his kicker. Strange call on 4th down.

Cards go up 3-0 with an early FG. A missed FG and fumbled punt by Mount led to those 3 points

If you can't make it down to Westerville for the game you can watch a live video stream on our website, www.otterbeincardinals.com

Go Cards!!

Who is going to the game on Saturday and if anyone can recommend a pre-game pub and eatery that would be appreciated. This is my first visit to Otterbein since my MUC days. ;D

Jimmy V's Grill & Pub at 1 S State St. About a half a mile away from the stadium. Easy three-four block walk either way

Jimmy V's is a nice spot. Also, if you're looking for walking distance to the stadium, Old Bag of Nails Pub is a block away from campus and just 2 from the field. Both of these places are relativly new seeing as Westerville was the Dry Capital of the World for years.

Looking forward to a good game. Get there early if you want a seat. I'll be standing down in the southwest corner

Bein_86:  Hope your boy is OK.

Hoping so. Doing blood work. thank you for your thoughts

Hope he's feeling better too. He's played very well all season and we'll need him to continue if we want to finish out this season strong.  Hopefully i'll see you this weekend at homecoming. Go Cards!

A couple of things I had to get out of the way. First - I watched the Colts last night and saw the absolutely amazing catch by PG! For all the Mount fans in the house - we have seen that before (check the one against Otterbein). It blew Collinsworth away and all I could think was "I saw that before - and with the same hand!". Second - I am going to the Otterbein Mount game at the end of the month and need some info. Not sure about parking, seating and all of that in Westerville. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and GO RAIDERS!

I played in that Ott/Mt. U game when Garcon made that catch. Still one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen in person.

As for the Otterbein campus, most of the parking surrounds the stadium. The lots to the west and south of the field are your best bets. The away stands are small. Come early to get a seat. Usually people stand around the field on the track on both sides. There are restaurants all over Westerville. Basically any style of food you could ever want is within 5 mins of our campus.

Let me know if you need any other info about campus.

Otterbein gave this one away. Terrible effort at the end of the game. Dropped balls and very shakey QB play late in the game. Really disappointing offensive ballgame

Cap has the ball around midfield leading 17-13 with 2:45 left in the 4th. Not looking promising

Scores still 13-10 Ott at the start of the 4th

Cards hit a late FG to go up 13-10 at the half
