Shout out to the RMC offensive line who paved the way for two 100+ rushers yesterday in the 59-21 shalacking of Guilford yesterday.  Nice bounce back yesterday.

Faulkner...thanks for your contributions to the resurgance of rmc football.  We appreciate it.

Congrats to the gennies, it looks like they played one heck of a game.  Also, having played for coach Aruzza I feel sorry for a few folks:  1) the RMC football team for playing a game that appears to be below their ability, 2) Guilford (if Faulkner is healthy) because you know  Macon is going to play one inspired football game and try to prove something.

Anyone know what happened to Austin Faulkner from RMC?  I see he is not playing in the third with Macon down 2 tds.  Anyone have a clue?

I know I haven't posted in a while but I wanted to say congrats to the Jackets on coming back and playing one heck of a second half on Saturday.  Also, in my time away, welcome all the Shenandoah fans and supporters.  I am excited for how the next few weeks are going to shape up.

R-MC Yellow Jackets ranked #25 in latest D3 Football poll......BZZZZZZZ......Go Jackets!!

We do alot of talk around here about players their impact on a team.  I want to tip my hat to Coach Arruza and the job that he is done turning around that program.  He took a 2-8 program in 2006 to a Nationally ranked team with an ODAC championship on the books in 4 years.  I believe that is a testament to his recruiting, his coaching style and his committment to the RMC community.

Keep up the good work!

It's a great day to be a Jacket!  The Faulkner to Peoples connection seems to be in fine working order again this week.  Faulkner has a huge day throwing for 5 touchdowns.  Earl Peoples finishes the day with 17 catches, 170 yards and 2 tds.  This has to be one of the most  explosive offenses to dawn a Jacket jersey in quite a while.  Thaddeus Scruggs has another great game as well running up 90+ yards and a score.  But enough about the offense that put up 400+ yards of otfense....AGAIN!

How about I show that defense some love.  Defense does a great job to holding the Shenandoah offense to under 150 yards total offense, if my memory serves me correctly.  That's an outstanding effort by those guys.  Great game defense.

Anyone else think there are two teams on a collision again for the title on that second Saturday in November?

Alright all you Jacket fans.....its time to see what R-MC is really made of.  Number #19 Hopkins rolls into town.  Anybody have any information about this Hopkins team and who the studs are?

I beleive there is going to be a good crowd for the home opener...going to be a great day for a football game.  MARKVA65, Jacketlawyer...either one of you going to be in attendance?

Wish I'd been there.  Sounds like it was a heck of a game.  As for me, I do not see myself getting to Ashland this year before Homecoming, but I always turn up at the H-SC game, and will be there this year with a few of my Tiger friends.  But hey!  Very much enjoying the here and now!! 8-)

You missed one heck of a game.  Looks like Coach Aruzza has his boys in line this year.  I will be taking in the Homecoming game as well as HSC.  I've got a good feeling this year.

I posed a question to the ODAC board and was told that question had a better chance of getting answered here...whats the scoop on this Hopkins team...who are the studs I need to be on the lookout for tomorrow?  I am looking forward to a great game at Day field.

MarkVA...I will definitely try to do that...I have a younger brother who goes there that is turning 21 tomorrow so I have to do some brotherly duties...but thanks for the invite and I will definitely make an attempt to come by and introduce myself

Muchacho...I would have to agree to the comment that HSC's starters looked impressive, I will have to disagree that they were the only team that looked impressive.  RMC won 54-14 over Methodist (I know they are subpar).  Macon was very balanced on offense with 250 yards passing and 200 yards rushing.  Faulkner and peoples picked up where they left off last year and scruggs and Drake each had a nice day.  The starting defense gave up a big play touchdown but pitched a shutout otherwise.  Macon averaged 7.3 yards per offensive play, that stat alone is impressive.

Just wanted to add, RMC adopted a new campus plan which will bring an upgrade to the campus.  In the upgrade will be a new stadium with -- field turf.  I wonder if Bridgewater and HSC have any intentions of replacing their fields???

H-S has turf for lacrosse and other sports.

When is R-M putting in a turf field? ???

My guess would be when they get the funds straight for the new stadium and get that process up and running.  Here is a link for the new plan.  http://www.rmc.edu/News/~/media/531CC13AA66C41B78B006495D5FC0D01.ashx

Hasa,

After Guilford installs the new fieldturf that will leave only three schools that still play on grass (RMC, HSC, and Bridgewater).  At one point I thought that teams that played on turf only once or twice a year would have to make adjustments.  Now it may be that teams that play on grass only once or twice a year may have to adjust.
Hey HSC85.  You make an interesting point for the ODAC, as it'll make it Field Turf 4, Natural Grass 3.  I'd have to examine each team's schedule to be sure, but for Guilford this means six 2009 games on FT:

Greensboro away on Greensboro Grimsley HS's grass field
Methodist away grass field
AVERETT home FT
HSC home FT
SVU away on Buena Vista Parry McClure HS's grass field
BC away grass field
W&L home FT
RMC home FT
CUA away FT
E&H home FT

If we switch venues for the same teams in 2010, it would mean 7 on FT and only 3 on grass.

First I want to say congratulations to RMC who had one heck of a season.  Those guys struggled early in the season with some tough losses but got back on track.

Second, congrats to all the Seniors of the ODAC for finishing out fine careers in a great conference.  A special congratulations goes out to Josh Simpson and Josh Vogelbach who are both closing out record careers.  Thanks for all the excitement that all of you have brought to the leauge.

Congrats to Zak Thornton for his second straight rushing title.  Just wanted to let you ODAC readers to be aware of something:  Thornton only needs 58 carries and approximately 1,050 yards to break both the ODAC All-Time carries record and ODAC Career all-time yardage record.  Very do-able.

Now that the conference has wrapped up another season, lets start handing out some awards!  Any thoughts on COY and POY?

I would just like to say that it seems that everyone is counting out RMC before they even get on the bus to Ohio.

I pose this question these two questions to all the readers of the board: last year (1) How many of you would have picked Appalachian State over top 5 Michigan in the Big House and (2) How many of you would have picked the Giants over the undefeated Pats in the Superbowl?  We play the game for a reason and I'm looking forward to the game tremendously.  All the guys playing (on both sides) are basically between 18-22 and they both put their pants on one leg at a time.

What everyone hasn't talked about is the amount of pressure that is on Mount Union.  They have all the pressure on them because they are the DIII powerhouse who has won 10 national championships.  They are the ones who have everything to lose in this game.

Jackets, just go out there, play your game and have fun.  This is a great opportunity to you and you should enjoy every last minute of it.  (Even practice this week)
