The biggest advantage UWW has is that players from any of the Wisconsin schools may transfer from one University of Wisconsin school to any other University of Wisconsin school without penalty. That player does not have to sit out a year as they must in Ohio and other D3 schools. Therefore any good player who wants to play on the best team in the state may go there giving UWW a collection of the best D3 players in the state..

Just an additional comment about UMU staying in D 3 rather that moving up: Isn't there something special about watching young men playing their hearts out strictly for the love of the game. They practice almost every day, work hard and go diligently to the weight room , not because they get some monetary reward (in the form of a scholarship) but because they love the game of football and want to compete and try to be the best. I think of it as football in the purest  form.

Every year, someone suggests UMU move up a division. In addition to the reasons previously stated, the person asking that needs to understand that, if a school wants to move football up a division, it must also move ALL of it's other sports up to the same division. Every sport must play in the same division. That means the school must provide scholarships  in all those sports.

Have a great trip to Alliance. I think the fans here will welcome you and wish your team an injury free game. You may run into the few who will imbibe too much prior to the game and get obnoxious but the majority of us will be gracious. Enjoy the trip and make it to the Pro Football Hall of Fame if you get the chance. It's well worth the time and effort.

Remember the playoff game against Wabash a few years back .
Their fans came in and acted like idiots and the players and cheerleaders weren't much better. One Wabash fan said in the parking lot before the game "You're going to get beat today!" As I remember, they got their butt kicked. I don't think it's wise to shoot off your mouth prior to a game - play the game  and let that decide who was best on that day.
