I think WW will win because of Johnnie mistakes. That is how it usually goes for SJU at this stage of the year  at WW. That said, I have been to 7 SJU games and 3 UW STOUT games. If there is an inference that Stout's passing game is good....like SJU, No way. You are comparing sandlot to Pro. The SJU QB has the ability to put the ball - right there - where it needs to be. Beyond the QB, the young SJU receivers have developed into exceptional receivers. If SJU has the ball 25 or more minutes and doesn't make mental mistakes, it will be tough for WW. WW needs to control the ball and pressure the QB and probably still score 35 points.

Think WW will play same type of game as they did against UMB. So to me the question is can WW hold onto the ball for 40 minutes or more. That to me determines the outcome of this game. Yes, one can say there is Johnnie magic, but it only shows itself once in a while. Johnnies also show the ability to be "spaced out" and end up having to recover from a horrific 1st half (Concordia and Stout and many others). I compare this game to the Bobby Fischer vs Boris Spassky chess match. If SJU stays loose, creative and free wheeling, they will defeat the steady as a rock, traditional minded and by the script WW team.  As has been the case too many times in the playoffs, SJU has not fared well against WW.  The Johnnies cannot get the "Lake Wobegon Spaced Deal" going or there is no magic, just regret.  Maybe this is what is on master Jackson's shoulders..

I believe the "Shall not Spike" law was not in the Bible put on the stone w the 10 commandments. It was commandment 7a. Thou shall not steal or spike the ball after a touchdown.

my take on today's SJU game with Wheaton is that if SJU does not shoot itself in the foot with turnovers and dumb penalties, they will win. I am glad they are away because I think they will be more focused.  Wheaton has not really faced any steep competition since the North Central game, 9 weeks ago or two-thirds a season ago. SJU has played ST Thomas, Bethel and most recently Aurora (a very for real offensive Goliath). I remember the praise for the SJU offense line after the St. Thomas game. So my hopes remain high that they will be half-way decent. Maybe Wheaton finds itself struggling against some real competition. It has faced none for 9 weeks. I also believe SJU has superior coaching. So adding the coaching, the offense, the schedules, SJU should win. I do worry about injury to SJU from a stupid cheap shot.

Abbey Gas, oh my! Potent stuff and very flammable. Rumor has it that Abbey Gas was the secret beverage that Michael Jackson referred to as his "Jesus Juice".... drink down and converse with the Lord. T'was Abbey Gas that the 1976 Johnnies would fill their water bottles with. Back to football, I thought the refs missed at least two calls against the Oles for cheap shots. One of which angered the Johnnies QB and got him penalized.

I wonder at what point SJU does something about their Kicking for extra point and field goal situation.  Sooner or later (like maybe next week against St Thomas) it is going to bite them in the butt real bad. It is a tragic loss just waiting to happen.  Oh Charlie from Eau Claire,  Why did you go and graduate?

I wonder if St Thomas has the "Kicked out of the MIAC Blues" and don't know where I'm going....

well maybe the defensive coaches adjusted, but the offense coaches just kept trying to score by running into a super stingy stout defense line. Poor play choice by SJU coaches probably cost SJU 2 more touchdowns. Which in the end almost resulted in a STOUT win in. About the refs, very poor. They were not paying attention on several occasions and the ball spotting was so poor, one wonders if it was deliberate.

don't know whose head was further in the clouds today, the refs or SJU. don't get me wrong Stout was prepared and wanted to win. SJU was also out coached. Really missed last years graduates from SJU. I believe we are going to find it was last years team - not this years - that was magical. SJU looks like a 2 or 3 loss team to me.

Stout Goes to 6-0. 11-0 is looking better and better. Of course one game at a time.

stout goes to 5-0. Seriously, this team can easily be 11=0 going into WIAC play. Talent and depth. They just need to stay the course...Play and not think.

Well, it's November 2018 and Stout Woman are 4 and 0. This is a good basketball team (Mark Who?). Have also seen Eau Claire and Oshkosh play twice. Whether due to injury or the guard play on EC being to hurried and wreckless with the ball, EC is already waiting for next year. I know they're 3 and 0 but this team is always in desperation mode. OshKosh looked pretty good. Wonder about their depth but they will be a contender. There is a very nice flow to the Stout game. They need to make the "bunnies" underneath. That said, Stout is back in the hunt for NCAA playoff and the WIAC championship. Stout could have 9 or 10 wins before WIAC play starts.

stout 29 - 24 at half. #11 for Stout looks like Magic ....Has the touch and total view of the court..Looks like Stout 'old timers' are adjusting to the new positions and offense. Predict final of Stout 63 to the Ole's55...we shall see.
