I would imagine that had everything to do with it. I don't really understand it because then that only tied the season series at 1-1. I didn't think this was like college football where it is better to lose early than lose late; it shouldn't really matter.
I think if two teams split a season series you have to give a slight edge to the team that won the later game. I am not saying that that should effect the rankings much, but with two teams that have been closely ranked all year some may see that as a deciding factor at the time.
However, if I am a Pointer I don't worry about that much. Right now, they have home court advantage throughout their conf. Tourney and should they run into WW again (very likely in my opinion) Point should have a strong advantage if you look back at the two schools recent history. If I am not mistaken, and correct me if i am, at least the last 5 games have been won by the home team. I know i am not mistaken here, but it doesn't matter what your regional ranking is if you take care of business in the Conf. Tourney.
