Losing Sauegling is a huge loss. Keep in mind they have every returning position starter back except their DH ( Sauegling). As far as my first post goes.... maybe i was being a little arrogant. Just a big Wartburg baseball fan. I have unanimous sources who think this 2009 team could be just as good if not better than 2005 team. 2008 Wartburg baseball team didn't have a quick exit from regionals. If I remember correctly ( not sure if i'm right) they were 1 of 3 teams left losing to Linfield, who went onto world series after beating Augustana twice Saturday, who beat Wartburg by 1 run. I also agree with IIAC being a weak conference. But winning 12 conference championships doesn't just happen. Obviously, you need a little luck and the Wartburg knights have had some of that in the past. For the teams that have helped Wartburg win it in the past thank you. But there is a key saying your teams were obviously missing "It's not how you start, it's how you finish." But you still just don't win 12 conference championships. It will be a very interesting season to follow. Also, I agree with the team with the top 3 starting pitchers will win it. But you can't win it without offense as well obviously.

Who cares about Luther.... and who ever else is in the conference... lets be honest the other teams dont even have a chance.... i mean 2-4 dont even have a chance this year because Wartburg is just too dominate in every category... with them returning 13 seniors i believe every IIAC team should be worried about them. Anybody else have any other predictions.. We all know that the whoever does the preseason predictions for the IIAC hates WArtburg because of their tradition and wont have them predicted to win conference but who cares what they think... Wartburg has proved them wrong for the past 12 years soon to be 13.
