I'm starting to think I should have had a much harder time joining the board with all the tiptoeing go on. Maybe all of you were afraid I would bring communism to your country if you stirred up ill feelings. Let's possibly bring things back to the players and teams the board is about and everyone can live in blissful harmony.

Pipers win 87-80. Mr. Mike Cambell with 24 off of 8-11 shooting. Tyler Pannell apparently likes all the attention he has been getting here on the boards and responds with 12 points (4-6 from three). Doesn't look like Buena Vista plays much defense as they have given up 100+ multiple times this season. Seems like it would be a good match up for the Pipers.

4th time in 6 years the NWC and HU game is decided by one point. NWC did not score a point in the final 4 minutes or so. I don't think we are really going to see what Hamline can do until the second half of the conference season, so I don't think you can take much from this game. Hopefully the young guys can develop in time to give Hipp a second playoff birth to go with his phenomenal career statistics wise.....did anybody catch the audio to this game? The announcers were.....I don't even have words.

Word has it that a Mr. Eric Clute has returned from his attempted stint in the NSIC and has returned to the MIAC--St. Thomas. In other news, rumor is Ray Brown is currently working out to play overseas. Best of luck to him.

WW. I've seen the team play a couple times. Although pretty unfair their competition during the regular season, as far as I know they have nothing to show for it as far as post season accolades--something Hopkins certainly has attained. Transitions came down to play Ellsworth High School a few years back when then MN scoring champion, Cody Schilling now at Augustana in Sioux Falls, was playing and Ellsworth handled them. This is a single A team that has gone to state repeatedly but never has done any damage, so that's why I am assuming they are relatively unknown. I know they put up 110+ ppg every season but the teams actual talent level isn't any better than a solid single A team. I know nothing about the actual school though.

Darko with 8 points and 8 boards tonight. Won't be long before he starts playing like the four guys picked around him and leads the Wolves (along with K Love) to a championship. Glory days are coming.

Although green man from It's Always Sunny is hilarious, it is not the creature being spoken of yesterday. That would be Arnie the Aardvark. A Halloween costume turned Piper mascot. Unfortuantely its power didn't turn into a W.

PI beat me too it. I guess Hipp is quite sick. However, sick or not this is certainly not a game Hamline should lose.

Does anyone else actually laugh every time Jonker Kong gets thrown out? I'm actually depressed I don't live in Northfield and am not a Carleton fan to take advantage of perhaps the greatest nickname ever. I guess I have to stick with Downtown Ray Brown and The Nasty One Carl Hipp

Hipp 25 points from 1,000. Here's hoping it comes Saturday.
Far and away, in my opinion, the best team basketball the Pipers have played this year. Baah was just killing in the first half. Bethel wouldn't have been close without him. Hamline could not stop him when Carroll wasn't in the game. I've never heard of this kid before, but he has a great shot. Great play by the Hamline bench players. Hopefully they can finish at least 2-2 in the next four. I can't say I would be surprised to see them lose three though. At St. Marys is always scary. Home against GAC should be a win.

Great win for the Pipes. When was the last time this team started 8-5 in conference? It has to be years. There are still far far far too many turnovers. Brown, as many amazing plays as he makes, is much to reckless with the ball. He could also be averaging 4-6 more points per game if he would just lay the ball in instead of going for a dunk every time and missing. He clanked three last night. Although HU wouldn't have near the success they are having without him, so I guess you take the good with the bad.
Last three years playing at Carleton:
08-09- L 66-82
07-08- L 65-84
06-07- L 61-98
Ugly losses. Here's hoping it's not four and they keep on rolling.

gacbacker, I don't want to put words in PI's mouth, but it was just an opinion and a warranted one at that point. How could you really separate Gac from St. Johns before tonight? Great win by Gac tonight. Can't wait for the rematch back in St. Paul.
