I think it might be an indication that New Paltz doesn't suck for the first time in forever.  However, there is evidencet that its 4-1 start in SUNYAC play might be a mirage - 4 of those games were at home and the 1 roadie was at the utterly pathetic Morrisville Mustangs.  Next four YACers are on the road at Potsdam, Plattsburgh, Geneseo and Brockport...no joke even if the Cards and Eagles are down this year.

Considering the fact that all those teams have losses this season that would lead anyone dumbfounded, I would say the weekends are up for grabs.  Your skepticism warranted, but if we are going to look at numbers here, New Paltz clearly doesn't mean what it used to mean.

Not a great week for the SUNYAC, eh? Thankfully New Paltz came up with a win to save a little non-conference face.

Does anyone want to take bets on how badly NYU will beat New Paltz tonight?  I am going to go out on a limb and say 35...I'll also bet that you will see a New Paltz full time-out within the first two minutes of the game.  However, if I am wrong, I will guarantee that the New Paltz starting 5 will play all 40minutes (Assuming that dopey looking forward stays out of foul trouble).

It nice to see a mention of Shereef Taylor  Freshman FDR/Hyde Park.  I watched him in high school and thought he would go to the next level.  He stayed home to play for New Platz and has steped into a leadership role as a freshman.  He may be the piece which New Platz builds around.  Always good to see a talented kid become successful.  He has always shown a level of maturity on the court.

I'd agree.  New Paltz has struggled early on, but Taylor has shown he has the ability--and desire-- to take over games.  Good things to come with that player.
