Gusties out rebounded--but pull it out by 10-- 83 to 73.  I don't think Coach will be overwhelmed with happiness with this win.  Another good second half from witjes helps to seal this win.

Peters for mac was a monster on the inside offensive game.

I'm thinking the gusties need to play a bit of defense in the second half--too many easy looks and scoring at will under the basket--they have succeeded in giving mac the momentum

Watching the Oles tonight I would say they are for real---a bit of choking down the stretch at the foul stripe by them and some heroics from Phil Wirtjes for GAC, with 22 2nd half points and the Gusties pull out the win.

Steve can definitely jump out of the gym.(again, we need more d3 dunks on youtube)

Here's a Will Wright dunk in traffic against Carleton, skip to 0:45 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whJnKPdhJug

Also, here's the highlights from the SMU win over GAC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MknL6n5IYGo

Thanks for the SMU highlights---when ww says mcp got torched on defense a person needs to see for themselves if that is a fact as ww has had a hard-on for various folks for a long time.

I think I got my answer

ww--'only' 11 last game--on a relative basis that is pretty good for gac

Let's face it the tommies are a heavy favorite tonight---that being said we never know which gustie team is going to show up and maybe they bring the red hot team tonight.

Paulson definitely needs to show up to play tonight--but given that he only shows up about half the time it is a coin toss.  I think Sams problem is all above the shoulders.  Van Sickle and/or Schmidt must shoot well tonight--tough to win when the defense can sag back and the gusties seldom win if one of them isn't shooting well.

Of course we all know the gacs can turn the ball over a million times in a game--just one more item that can kill them.  They did reasonably well at Gus Young against the tommies a couple weeks ago turnover wise.

If I was Hanson I would work it in for the shot versus taking outside shots initially--If McPartand and Paulson can move in on them I think there could be foul issues early.

yes--voj was pretty fired up on the 2 point shot ruled a 3---but stuff happens.

Damned real media player dumped me at half and had to listen to the gac broadcast---oh well--the gusties came to play tonight :)

ww---I had to go download 'Real Media player'--the free one for the johnnie broadcast to work

VOJ--good job today--I did opt for your broadcast versus the gustie broadcast--of course I had to take into account the mild bias, but I wouldn't expect otherwise.

WW--wish I could be more positive---but I look at turnovers as somewhat of a mental error (albeit some are obviously defensively caused)---and by and large you have bright people doing stupid things--and as I study their losses the 'points off turnovers' has been deadly.

Secondly---you have got to come to play---every game-not just some of them.

My frustration stems from never knowing which team is going to show up.  Hope they bring the right one Monday night

Same old crappola from my gusties.  You have to come to play starting the first half--not the second and you can't throw the ball away constantly and win--very disgusting.

Geez--good thing I am just a knucklehead hoping my gusties bring the 'a' team tonight.  Such passion on the boards lately.

miacmaniac--some years back (maybe 15) the color purple was the 'gay' color--have not a clue if it still is considered such---I kind of like the purple uni's. and last time I checked I wasn't gay.  Probably not the msot inventive cheer I have heard.

Was sitting near court level and didn't see crowder saluting the tommie faithful on saturday---could have happened, but I didn't see it
