A great game by both teams last night as Grinnell BEAT St. Norbert 102-96!

The real question is would you have posted anything if it had been a great game and St. Norbert had won.

Nope, would have been crying in my beer  ;D ;D ;D

Actually, I really meant it - it was a great game, both teams played hard and well.

A night for System Fan(s) to rejoice!  A real nail-biter, though.  GC led the whole game, but LU whittled away their lead - outcome unclear until the very last seconds.  John Dekker played an amazing game.  Great to see the new Pioneers really GET the System.

Grinnell pulled out a win over Lake Forest last night, with a little bit more adherence to the System than we've seen from this group so far.  Hang in there, System fans!

I suggest patience for the GC Pioneers and for all loyal System fans.  When is the last time Grinnell has had such a lopsided (young) team?  There's a LOT of talent on that bench:  it just needs...shaping.  That said, I've always wished I could see inside big A's head to figure out what he's doing (and not doing).

Congratulations, LU - great game.  Sad as I am to admit it!  :)

Thanks to Long, Grotberg, Idrissa, Roewe, and Arsenault for a fun 4 years!

I may have had one or three or so tonight.  I'm jazzed up.  If I offend anyone, I apologize.  However, this LU team is arguably one of the hottest teams in the country right now, and I think its gonna take more then what Grinnell has to stop that train.

....back from walking the dog.  Hoist one for me, larry_u!  May the best team win tomorrow.  ;)

Great...I can't wait for 2 hours of them slobbering on the GC players balls tomorrow.

God I hope LU can come out with the perfect anti-system ball and kill Grinnell.

Page for 45 tomorrow, Dekker for 30.  Lets go Vikes!!

See, the thing is, larry_u, this is D3 BASKETBALL.  It's Lawrence and Monmouth and IC and Grinnell et al.  It's supposed to be FUN.  Yeah, we all want to win, but you need to take a powder.  Or something.  Sit back, enjoy the great Darby accoustics, watch some great D3 ball...and enjoy your plate of crow when the Pioneers win.   ;D

Hate to be a buzz kill but I'm not sure that the top 4 will be any different next year. Order might change but it looks like the same 4 to me.

Only my opinion, just interested by the numbers, don't mean to offend anyone.

No offense taken here, pgkevin,  :) but - Thus Spake The Roop.  What else do we need to know?  ;D

Grinnell has 2 other seniors who will be missed next year - R.J. Roewe and Ahmed Idrissa.  Ahmed was out with an injury quite a few games this season;  it's great to see him back on the court.  R.J. and Ahmed are both integral to The System's rotations.

Not that anyone would say it here  :), but some people - out there - might be tempted to call Grotberg's achievements artifacts of The System.  The career points, etc.  To which I say, Grotberg is such a well-rounded player, plays so well - the guy is one of the team's best rebounders, for Pete's sake - and he's Just.  That.  Good.

With so many other great players on the team and in the conference, Bobby Long will never get POY.  But he's been a rock for the Pioneers - there ought to be some sort of official "we couldn't have done it without you" recognition.

Ripon played hard and well.  Good defense, especially during the first half, when Ripon led for a while.
