Montclair knocked off Western Connecticut 33-17, despite struggling mightily in  the first half. Western Conn. was in the game until early in the 4th quarter.

Other than Fischer having a pretty good game despite the rainy and windy weather, it was much of the same story for Montclair.

catchball, Fast Freddie, and msupenguin,

Need some insight into this Montclair Bull S#%t. What the heck is going on. The Red Hawks are coached like a tenyeared professor. They know they have jobs for life and do what ever they want. Do they want to be champions or want to be's. I get the impression that Giancola and O'Conner just do not have a clue. I'm sorry bur Fisher is not the guy and not a team player. He appears to be all about himself. How in in the would do you expect to beat Rowan and Kean the way things are going. This all appears to be like politics, "I know what you need and do as I say". Please wake up and smell the roses. There is no guarantee we can beat W.Conn. There is still time, don't let it slip away. >:(

I normally don't like to rip college players, especially on MSU since the vast majority of the players not only hard, but are great people off the field, but Tom Fischer is a selfish punk. Example, the starting defense was being introduced before the Cortland game, but rather than stand with the team, Fischer was on the OPPOSITE side of the sideline, standing alone. He doesn't seem to have chemistry with the rest of the team and really seems to lack any heart. That's what bothers me the most, his lack of heart. I'll take a player with less than talent but actually cares about the team and the game over him any day of the week.

I simply don't know what to expect the upcoming weeks. I am very concerned for the upcoming games against Rowan and Kean, I just don't see us pulling out wins. I should be at all three remaining games this season so I should be able to give some more insight on things.

Didn't make the Montclair game, but by looking at the stats the SOS. A win against Buff St. Fisher threw (4) picks. What else is new. >:( What's going to happen when we play a decent or good team?  ??? We will see what they have against TCNJ then excluding W. Conn then we have  Rowan and Kean. Throw (4) picks in each game and we are 0-2 vs Rowan and Kean. I saw a promising stat, Boysen got in. Does anybody know why?

I haven't heard anything about Fishcer getting hurt, and his last action was after the fourth interception so my guess is that he was benched after the fourth pick.

I'm sure we will see Fishcer back under center at TCNJ, perhaps Saturday was simply getting a message across to him.

The numbers tell the story imo, completion percentage of 50.6%, 7 TDs vs. 13 INTS, second most INTS in NJAC behind Jake Garci of brockport (who has thrown 50 more passes), and third worst passing efficiency for starting QBs begins James Williams of West. Conn. and Woodward of Cortland.

Nuff' said.

Red Hawk Naion :

Time to end my silence. I was not excited about the Morrisville win. We should have won the game. This is no disrespect to Morrisville. As I figured, Fisher got the start and from a stat end looked good. I'm sure he had all day to sit in the pocket and throw. Put a little pressure on him and he falls apart. I'm sorry to say, but he is not a leader and it is only my opinion that he does not have the respect of his team. I guess Coach G. feels that he is the best we have and please O'conner get creatative. That being said, I still support the Red Hawks as I always have. It's just hard to hope for a shot at the playoffs when you probably will fall short at best. What would Sam Mills say about the happenings this year? I hope I have to eat these words after the Kean game.

Can't make the game today, my daughters Birthday.

B-Port is a tough well coached team. Special Olympics field is not an easy place to play. Pressure will be put on Fisher and let's see how he performes. This could be the place to turn everything around. I'd like to see it happen. Like I always say 110 - 60 and "Keep Pounding".

Let's  Go  Mighty  Red  Hawks  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone know the final score of the MSU-Brockport game ???

MSU barely escaped Brockport, winning a shootout 41-39.

That's all I know, can't find stats anywhere yet, but that final score is not encouraging. A win is a win, but it you shouldn't need 40+ points to win a game.

Also around the NJAC:
Kean upsets Cortland State 24-10.
TCNJ crushed Morrisville State 67-34.
Buffalo State knocked off Western Connecticut 37-26.
Rowan defeated Willie P 28-13.

Blowout at Montclair, as the Red Hawks compleltly demolished Morrisville 52-0. Talk about a complete 360 for both teams in that matter.

Fischer looked much better at qb for MSU and the defense forced at least 5 turnovers (probably more).

I'm pleased to see the old Red Hawks firing away again. But complete demolition job, Morrisville played so poorly it was an embarressment to the conference, I haven;t seen a college team ever play so poorly and wihtout and heart.

Got back from my weekend in PA late yesterday and was too angry to post.

First of all, congratulations to Wilkes. They monkey stomped us. They are a well coached and disciplined team.

I couldn't believe what I saw from Montclair. All I harped on all summer was that Fisher needed to step up and the offensive play calling must not be so predictable.
No improvement from Fisher (SOS) and even I knew what plays were coming. Is there a rule that Fisher can't cross the line of scrimage. ::) We need mobility at the QB position and Boysen proved it again. He was also throwing ropes. Boysen needs to start, but I'm sure that will never happen. He was great at Cortland last year and then he sat on the bench. I saw Fisher gimp a little when Boysen came in, so maybe we will see this week. We need Boysen !!!!!!!!!

What is up with how they use Bliss. He is one talented running back, but leave him in as a single back and you will stop him. This is not rocket science. I think he ran wide twice and he got 5-8 yard each time. Keep using Bliss like that and he will continue to get 48 yards rushing. Please use his talents correctly.

2 picks and 3 fumbles does not = winning the game.

For some reason we always give up the deep pass and this year is no different.

If we keep this up a 5-5 record will be a miracle. :(

Thank you for that post, I agree 100% that Boysen should be starting.

Heck last year, I thought Eric Palmer should have started the year before his injury at Willie P ended his season.

No question Boysen should start, I started that campeign after the Cortland game and sticking to it. Unfortunatly, it doesn't look as though it will happen, it sounds like Giancola is sticking to Fischer through and through. Fact is that Boysen is more polished though.

I want to see first hand how the offense looks against Morrisville tomorrow. It should be interesting.

Halfitme at Wilkes and things aren't looking good for MSU, they are down 16-3 at the break.

Running game isn't working at all for the Red Hawks, just 19 yards rushing, plus two fumlbes, one of which was ran back by the Colonels for a touchdown.

Check Wilkes athletics site for updates, they have live stats.

Interesting that it looks like Morrisville is keeping close with Cortland today. Keeping my eye on that game since Montclair host Morrisille next week.

Hey guys, I will be writing for MSU football this season for the school newspaper.

In any case, after looking at the NJAC coaches' poll, I was surprised to see Rowan at the top, I was sure that it would be Cortland State at #1. Rowan isn't even in the top 25, while Cortland and Montclair are, but we will see how things pan out. Preseason polls don't hold a lot of meaning.

I'm hoping that the Red Hawks learned their hard lesson from the end of last season, where they were one half away from a NCAA berth before blowing up against Kean and not showing up against Albright. I think the team has a lot of promise and the offense should score more points hopefully.

Can't wait to see Cortland come to Montclair this year, last year's game between the two was very entertaining.

Anyone know the NJAC schedule for 2009 yet? I know a few schools like Rowan and Kean posted thier 2009 schedules, but I can't find a full official conference schedule anywhere.

Farmingdale got upset in the Skyline Championship by St. Joe's, which will hurts Montclair's chances big time. To me, that glimmer of hope had disappeared.

Ouch, rough loss, sadly I missed the game, it sounded like a very good game. Tomorrow the women's team plays in the NJAC semifinals so hopefully they will win tomorrow and Saturday and take the NJAC on their side.

Hopefully the men's team can capture an ECAC title.

Let's hope for a MSU victory, both games against Rutgers-Newark have been hard fought battles, so it should be fun to watch.

Unfortunatly, I will not be at the men's game Tuesday, but I am covering the women's game on Wednesday against Kean, who jsut destroyed Rutgers-Newark 68-33.

No doubt a huge win, and with James Williams not in the lineup as well. Bonard stepped up with 22 tonight, he's shaping up to be a huge clutch player for this team.

This is an excellant team that, if they win Wednesday, should be considered for Pool C.
