Hey Guys,
Its been awhile since I have posted. I was wondering about Indy Ball. My son played at the Division 3 level and was all region player 3 times and an all conference player as well. He had very good college stats.....averaging a .350-.380 BA every year with alot of RBIs and 4-5 Home Runs. I know its a tough answer since you prob havent seen him play but do you think he has a shot at playing Indy ball? Whats the level like at Indy ball....does an above average college D3 Player have a chance to excel there? He is been trying to contact teams via email but they seem to invite him to tryouts....are these tryouts worth it? Hope someone knows more than me!

Thanks

Truthfinder is the man honestly. People hate the truth and he loves dishing it out there!!! Coach Doorey got SUNYAC coach of the yr...so did Ferchen from Oneonta who does the least with a ton of talent. SUNYAC is a solid conference but not a conference with many strong coaches besides Cortland and Oswego

Defensewins is once again correct with saying plattsburgh is pretty much the same as Oneonta and Brockport. Oneonta plays one of the weakest schedules down in Florida and seems that they are 10-1 or 11-0 every year then when they come up north they become a 500 ball club...I feel like these coaches just dont try hard enough to schedule games against different opponents cuz its easy eevry year to call the same teams and say how bout we play that april 19th weekend again and its locked in. What coaches such as Doorey and Ferchen must do is go out and play some Wheatons or RPIs of the world therfore getting recruits mroe interested and also making them a better team by playing tougher opponents.

Plattsburgh is god awful. lets face it....they have no chance to win SUNYACS. Pburgh only has SOME hitting and Zero Pitching...Oleary is their # 1, i mean his 84 -85 mph fastballs arent scaring a good team.

What players from the SUNYAC will receive All Region Honors?
When does the All region team come out?

To be honest....I believe Cortland should pitch their #2 or # 3 pitcher vs Clarkson. Save Tone for a win the next game. It looks like Cortland is gonna be 2-0 pretty easily.
Thoughts?

Alley,
lets be honest....The SUNYAC is a better conference...better players...better overall teams. RPI is good but they arent Cortland. You cant tell me you like RPI over Oneonta this year either....in a 3 game series like eevryone wants....Filak, Juedes and Meservey are tough to beat. Plattsburgh was better in years past then they were this year.
I agree Airball, I would take those teams over the LL teams year in year out. Im not dissing the LL, all i ask is that these leagues play eachother....maybe like a BIG TEN ACC Challenge like in college basketball. 3 game series vs the other league. How hard is that to schedule.?

Why doesnt RPI ever play teams from the SUNYAC conference? I believe the best conference in NY is the SUNYAC. I see they played Cortland and lost pretty badly but why havent they played the likes of Brockport or Oneonta? I believe those teams are just as good as RPI. Maybe even better than RPI. The Liberty League has a good top few teams but a very weak bottom of the league. How bout the SUNYAC and LL play eachother atleast 1 time a year therefore we can better determine who is better and it will definately help with NCAA at large bids. Any thoughts???

Bob,
I agree with alot of your selections. I believe that if Juedes doesnt get SUNYAC pitcher of the year, its a joke. He has to be a lock for the Pitcher of Yr with NO EARNED RUNS in 30 plus innings. It seems to me that eevry year Cortland has the most players selected and some of the players in my eyes arent as good as other SUNYAC players that do not get the honor. Lets hope the comittee selects the most deserving players and not just who they play for
