Platteville goes 2-0 on its California trip, knocking off the La Verne Leopards 70-61 yesteray evening and upending Colorado College 61-59.  La Verne isnt very good (record wise) but check out some of there opponents this year exibition games vs UC Santa Barbra and the Afghan national basketball team and regular season games against D1 Cal State Bakersfield and nationally ranked UNLV.

Since the world is ending this Friday I guess these picks wont matter  but I'll take

I heard from a reliable source Vaassen is going to try and get a medical red shirt, but some of the interviews with Gard makes it sound like he could be back so I'm not exactly sure but he's currently on cruches. 

Platteville won 86-48 tonight over Oshkosh, was unable to attend! The bad news for Platteville is frosh Corey Vaassen is out for som etime with a leg injury, the good news is Frosh G Darrin Haugh is back from a leg injury, this kid is flat out quick should be fun for the WIAC to watch him (hopefully) develop in to a very good PG.

This is a tough one!

U-G-L-Y the only way to describe the Blugold/Pioneer game at the Bo tonight.   Platteville jumped out to a 25-11 lead at around the 8:30 mark of the first half only to see EC score the next 14 points of the half and go in to halftime even.  Platteville slugged their way to a 56-48 win in the 2nd half behind junior Eric Gerber (17pts) Chas Cross (16pts). Both teams shot in the mid 30%s but Platteville was able to knock down the big shots when it mattered.  Platteville really struggled against the Blugolds zone hope the rest of the WIAC does not take notice .  An apparently vast improved Stout team is next.

Excuse me Dupree Fletcher was the guy I was thinking of not Draelon Burns, and I know it comes off as I'm taking a pot shot at Whitewater thats not my intention. What I'm saying is they get players that many people wont give a chance or are afraid to give them a chance and turns them into stars give Miller, and Leopold credit for that.

A kid who comes in with a lot of questions behind him but also brings a lot of talent and usually perfroms very well on and off the court.  Past examples would include Draelon Burns, Matt Goodwin, and Chris Davis.  And if we look at football players like Lavalle Coppage and Booker Stanley. 

Darnell Harris is your typical Whitewater star (or at least sounds like it) but to bring up a new issue is it True River Falls is getting new facilities for basketball or is it a bunch of hogwash?

Had issues with the internet over the weekend, and Falcon covered the Platteville/Falls game pretty good.  IDK if Platteville is gonna be a real good team after Saturday or if River Falls will be a bad team this year after last Saturday to early to tell.  I was impressed by the athletism of guys like UT Udo and Arik Smith for Falls, I just think it will take them a while to regroup after all they lost from a year ago.  The most impressive thing for the Pioneers was the fact they won quite easily with Jake Manning scoring just 2 points and playing just 8 minutes do to foul trouble.  The Pioneers have the most depth they have had under Coach Gard should help them as they enter the dog days of the WIAC come January and February.

Platteville drops their first game of the season 69-57 at Augustana.  Chas Cross and Rob Stallion both limp of the court in the 2nd half hopefully theyre alright.
