This group -- or half of it, at least -- will probably like the D3football.com Play of the Week:
http://www.d3football.com/awards/playoftheweek/2014/week4

I have to give props when they are do. That was an amazing effort to give his team the win.

Big game this week! Every game now is basically a one game championship. Win the rest and you control your own fate. It has been nearly 10 years since I have suited up for Methodist and I still have a hate for CNU haha! One of the few places I never got a win.

Took me a couple of years but I finally remembered my password ;)

Abn...I'm glad to see you're still kicking around.  Narch, you're due for a 22 North trip! Bring abn and jbyrd with you when you come!
papi...good to see you back - i'll be in the area the 2nd week of october...a trip to 22 north is def. on the agenda and i've got no problem if jbyrd comes along, but abnrgr scares me - i'm ok with him as some anonymous poster on the internet, but i'm not sure i want him to know what i look like, just in case i ever make him mad :)

of course, if jbyrd comes along, we'll have plenty of muscle to deal with abnrgr...he can come, but ONLY if jbyrd is there :)

HAHA Last time I had a few with AdmiralPapi it did not end so well!

jbyrd, I happen to "know" you from another corner of the Internets (hint: it's a website that starts with a "t" and talks about men lifting heavy things).

Good to see you posting here as well.

NICE! I been MIA from this board for awhile, but I wanted to be more supportive of MU so here I am!

papi probably started something he couldn't finish...just like a qb to stick his head in something and hope his ol will bail him out :)

I wish it was that cool of a story! More like I learned my lesson about eating chicken nuggets before going out haha!

Thanks Narch man
You know when I blow something I'll eat it but I just think GC-Q (and I know NOVA skulks about) may not hold up. I've seen a couple flashes over the years but GC-Q reminds me of the NO Saints of the 80's.

Win enough to get people excited then without WARNING: a head is rolling around in a basket.  ;)

I watched some of the game online. GCQ QB looked really good, spread the ball around well and was very difficult to defend. MU made their share of mistakes, and GCQ took care of business. Just like always, you have a few hrs to celebrate or sulk, then its time to move on to the next week!

HAHA spoken like a true fan! Great story and well written article. Says a lot about Coach Goss and the staff at MU as well. That time out, learning things from the coaching side will truly help him grow.
spoken like a coach :), but i agree

i hope mr. bing will enroll in the mu master of justice administration program next fall and play out his eligibility while getting his master's degree

'nova - since the first game was just a REALLY GOOD game, not a GREAT game, i agree with you...hope he has 9 GREAT games this season...starting this weekend :)
Is it too late to change my statement to "one good game and EIGHT great games"?  lol

If one of them can be a playoff game, sure!

Got a chance to watch Methodist play the first half online. Lots of positives to take away from that half, seemed to be some break downs in the 2nd half from what I read, but I am sure that will get cleaned up. Really looking forward to being on campus for homecoming!

Thanks for the run down Narch! I am really looking forward to being back on campus a few times this year. Proud of the changes that are being made and the growth that the school is doing. Also, believe me if I had the money for a new stadium I would have already cut the check! haha

Narch,

What are you hearing about the Monarchs so far? I have heard some positive buzz, just want your take.

Even though they initially said they will only be targeting players a few years of leaving college, I think they may go after some younger guys that may decide not to attend college. It was also mentioned in the article that they will not be paying those hefty salaries. I think the league stays committed to a good budget and hopefully maintain and last a couple years, you may see young guys opting out to go to college and make $250-$1,000 a week instead of going to college and receiving that same stipend, without having to attend classes and deal with college by-laws.
the ONLY chance this league has of surviving is for the nfl to see it as a viable developmental league...there is no way the nfl sees 17 to 18 year old kids as viable candidates for nfl jobs and there is absolutely no way the nflpa wants to see 17 to 18 year old kids taking a 30 year old, 8 year nfl veteran's job - i give it a less than .01% chance that the league lets anyone play who has not exhausted college eligibility...if this league ever even gets off the ground

The AFL attempted to do this. Used big salaries for some former big name college guys, but the league itself did not equate well to the NFL. The 5 minutes I spent playing in the Arena1 league I was the only guy on the roster who had NOT played in the NFL.

Quote from: ProudFightingScot on April 20, 2010, 11:31:12 PMCongrats to a great career for Coach S.  Good luck in '10 and hope you are 9-1 during your final season at Methodist.
i think everyone at mu would gladly take 9-1, even if it did involve losing to the scots :)

coach sypult had a really good run and made mu football relevant at a time that it was a joke...lots of ups and downs, record wise, but the man has always been passionate about mu, mu football and his players - he'll be missed (especially at media day...nobody in the conference is as candid or witty as coach sy)

i think coach eavenson will do great things for the program...first-class person, great recruiter and a good football mind...looking forward seeing him take the reins after this season

Coach Sypult was a great coach to play for, he had a way of pulling the best from his players. Coach Eavenson will be an outstanding head coach, I have never been around a more hard working man than him.

Ready Ready Monarchs!

You have to swear a little bit when you coach (or at least on the defensive side of the ball) but you really don't want to read about it in the news.

I have no problem with it but Im sure the administration at cnu wasnt happy to read that one.

Bad language on the football field, I have never heard of such a thing!
