I went back about 4-5 pages and gave all the regulars (but one) positive karma. View it as pork from your senator.
Ephoops had slipped to -13. That's absurd. I would have given him 10 pos k's if I could have. 1 pos. k will have to do for now.

I gave you an 'applaud' I almost didn't because you knocked my real classy poetry but I decided to be a 'big' person and not wallow in the petty. I will continue to use poetry as I see fit because it's real high level. Feel free to smite.

Bucket / NESCAC1:

Thanks for the update.  It appears that Maker has acquitted himself well in bringing in his first recruiting class.

Given the dearth of info this winter, it was apparent that Maker was casting a fairly wide net outside the New England region... although the lack of news did have some concerned that Maker was a bit behind.  Those concerns appear to have been unfounded.

It will be very interesting to see how Maker integrates this class into his playing rotation next season.  Also, with Joe G. in his last year, it wuld be nice if the class included a big man who could get some minutes as a freshman and ultimately step into that role as a sophmore.

Bucket - As for your comments re Chaminade H.S. on Long Island, they play in the NYC Catholic league -- specifically the "A" division, which is a big step down from the "AA" division which may be , from top to bottom, the best high school league in the country.  Chaminade was very good last year but underperformed this year.  It's my understanding that one of Maker's recruits is from Chaminade as well.

Bucket - you mentioned a recruit from the Pacific Northwest.  Do you have any additional info on him??  Is he a big man?

i think ur right. maker can definitely sleep better at night knowing he has been acquitted by d3hoops posters. hahaha!!!

From what I've heard and read, Robertson is a notable recruit for Williams.   Ranked ahead of some point guards in Michigan who are going D-I.   His stats (outside of assists and steals) don't jump out because he is a team-first sort of point guard.

Those are impressive numbers for Workman.  I think some of the Amherst fans are overlooking him because he is not ranked on that New England site but that is clearly an omission due to his being hurt for a few years and flying under the radar.  I'd bet he along with Kaasilas are the most likely impact recruits for Amherst, unless there is someone else who hasn't been made public yet.

Midd fans have been oddly quiet after the big break out year (perhaps still heartbroken over the NCAA's?)  -- any impact recruits for the Panthers?  They could really use another ballhandler, unless one of the frosh buried on the bench emerges.  Otherwise, asking Edwards to do a lot both on offense and defense ...

Was thinking we would hear more from Wes with the addition of Ameer and Sha Sha Brown .. maybe once the season approaches.  Wes should be a fun team to watch next year for the first time in a long time ...

its all about wesleyan.

Looks like Pierce Edwards is the largest contributer among the Amherst recruits, averaging 13 points and 6 rebounds while Matt Edwards averages 8 and 6. Bryant averages 3 and 8... looks like he might be a bit of a project if he is going to contribute offensively in college.

LeFrakenstein,
Don't sleep on Northampton's Finest Willy Workman. He dropped 45 on Phillips Exeter and 31 against your highly touted Edwards twins of Suffield.

With LeFrakenstein, ac08, TheHerst2and4, Amh63, La Verdad, FPC85, and myself doing all the talking, I get the false sensation that Amherst just had another dominant basketball season. C'mon NESCAC fans, where are all of you? Where are the Colby and Wesleyan fans that predict consecutive wins over the Lord Jeffs? Why aren't Midd fans still basking in the glory (at least until next season starts)? Why hasn't the Williams team picked up a notable recruit yet? Let's pick up the intensity...Spring Training is over.

i agree with you saying it is a false sensation

did zak ray or rob stockwell ever go play overseas?

it sure would be nice to have somebody make a spreadsheet that had every nescac player that played overseas, what teams, and the statistics that the player put up. i nominate walzy.

No chance that Schultz/Rubin/Geoghegan is even close to Crotty/Coffin/Abba.  Abba and Rubin are so far apart it's a joke.  Geoghegan could hang with Coffin, but Coffin could step out and hit the 15-foot jumper consistently while I have not seen that from Big Joe yet.

It's hard to compare Schultz and Crotty because they play different positions, but there if you say you would rather have Schultz over Crotty then you never saw Crotty play.  Crotty was the best point guard in the country, and while Schultz is a great all around player, but not the best player in the country at his position.

haha on the contrary, rick, i saw crotty play many times. he was a solid d3 player, but its hard to dispute the fact that his "success" was buttressed by the offensive and defensive system set in place by paulsen.

he couldn't defend. he wasn't quick enough or big enough to be a scorer or a threat. people had to guard everyone else, which allowed him to fall through the cracks.

since we're on the topic, dave paulsen's genius was really on full display with crotty. he has one of the only systems that can effectively hide shorter/slower point guards. basically, a good guard in that system makes few turnovers and hits open shots. this catered perfectly to crotty's skillset.

paulsen's system enables/promotes the success of the others on the floor...who, in turn, make him look better.  that's how you have players become all-conference like crotty and coffin.
