#1 seed Cortland outlasts #3 Amherst by the score of 3-2.
Amherst will play the winner of tonight's Kean - Farmingdale State matchup at 1pm tomorrow.
Cortland will then play the winner of that contest at 5pm.

I would love to see it moved to Farmingdale State

Oswego edges visiting Ithaca 4-3. T. Baker rbi single in 11th wins it after fielding error puts Laker runner on third with one out. P. Brown gets pitching win, J. Wagner absorbs loss. Oswego escapes second and third runners with no outs in IC 11th. Grounder erases runner at plate and Oswego turns unusual second to third to first doubleplay retiring side.  Oswego runners on first and third, one out in ninth. Attempt double steal and fail. Next batter retired. Lakers finish with 13 hits, Ithaca 10. Wagner relieves with two on, two out in eighth. Gets comebacker. OSt faces  Ithaca ace starter J. Prendergas. B. Diorio takes over for Prendergast starting fifth. Lakers send top hurler B. Karinchak to hill. T. Smith swipes home in double steal in Oswego fourth. C. Gee, C Belyea, T. Henry rbi for IC. Oswego's Karinchak relieved in eighth by Brown

Brockport tripped 9-2 at Fisher

Plattsburgh loses 11-7 at home to St. Lawrence

New Paltz at Farmingdale, canceled
Fredonia host to Allegheny, ppd.

Don't know if Prendergast was penciled in to face Cortland on Tuesday before rain made IC's Freeman sod unplayable. Doubt it. Don't believe Joe Brown would have M. Rotunda, B. Serio or B. McClain -- his three frontliners -- in action. All worked last Friday/Saturday as did Prendergast. IC mound corps might be deeper than CSt's, or at least that's the way it appears to have played out this season. RDragons shaky when reaching in the 'pen. Also think Cortland with more offense than Bombers. May not get together now till NY Regional ...... speaking of which ..........Fran, where might that site be now that Auburn's apparently out of the picture. Gotta believe something's already set.

Farmingdale State has excellent facilities and has hosted the regional before, would be a good location.

Cortland added a single game at SUNY Purchaes on Thursday 3/27.
Also, switched Friday - Saturday games vs Plattsburgh at home, to Saturday - Sunday this weekend.  Pending field conditions.

Graczyk over Locastro for NY player of the year? Interesting call.

Graczyk: .408/.464/.516 1 HR, 1 3B, 15 2B, 31 RBI, 17 BB, 13 steals in 20 attempts
Locastro: .424/.539/.625 2 HR, 6 3B, 11 2B, 32 RBI, 15 BB, 36 steals in 37 attempts

Graczyk is a CF, Locastro is a SS, so both of them play premium defensive positions—though Locastro's 19 errors would seem like a lot for a SS, and Graczyk made just one (though it tells us nothing about his range)

But these offensive numbers aren't even close. 100 points in slugging? 23 additional steals AND a nearly perfect percentage? Yes, the caliber of competition may have been different, but by how much? The teams played three times, and shared several opponents.

The defense may have been a check in Graczyk's favor, but Locastro's advantage in hitting and baserunning make him the better pick IMO.
Locastro had a great year.
You're comparing stats on a sheet of paper.  How many times have you seen Graczyk actually play?
Graczyk won because he deserves it.  If it went the other way, Locastro would have deserved it.
Stop Whining!!
Ithaca won and you still have sour grapes.

Of course I'm comparing stats on a sheet of paper. What do you think the voters were doing? It's Division III sports. These games aren't nationally broadcast. There aren't video highlights readily available. You think the people who vote for these things can watch all these games live?

So let's flip it around. If you're a Cortland fan, how many times have you seen Locastro play?
My point is, both players had good years, both are deserving.

A lot of good/great players in D3 go undrafted.  A big reason for this is age.  Most players at a D3 play all four years and are 22/23 when they are drafted and are already somewhat behind in development.   I'm not saying it can't be done, but the odds are already against them as age is a big factor.
As compared to D1 or D2?  Getting drafted after your junior year makes you only 1 year younger.

Well said..Fisher just can't seem to get it all together.  Very talented but can't seem to get the big hit or make the big play with the game on the line.  Ithaca should be the one seed in this regional, but, I imagine (unless Ithaca loses a few more), Cortland will get it based on whatever reason the regional can come up with.   Fisher season a microcosm of game 4.  They outhit Ithaca 11-2 and struggle to hold on for a 2-1 victory.  They could get hot, no doubt, but it may not be enough.  The schedule opens up for the Cards, can't slip up again.
Ithaca 17-1 in region.  Cortland 23-3 in region.
First, the season's not over so how can you determine a #1 seed?
Second, at this point Ithaca has a better regional record including a win against Cortland.  But Cortland has played tougher regional competition.
I'm sure whoever is ultimately #1, it will be deserved and nobody needs favoritism from the NCAA.

I think Linfield was #1 by a significant enough amount that they should stay there. No guarantee that they will.

Starting to look really familiar in the top 15 or so.

1. Linfield
2. Cortland State
3. St. Thomas
4. St. Scholastica
5. Webster
6. Wheaton (Mass.)

You may be right, Linfield could stay at #1.  I'm not sure what being "#1 by a significant enough amount" means though.  According to the poll itself there weren't many votes separating the top 5 or so teams.

With a Linfield loss this week, will we have another new #1?
