I want to wish Coe and Central the best of luck this weekend! I know they will represent the IIAC well. I am excited for the change at Cornell. I'm more excited that the AD was true to his words last year when he promised graduating seniors and those boys who would stick with the program that he would do his best to improve the program and put the right people in place to make that happen. I hope that this breath of fresh air may help to improve the numbers and hopefully establish strong relationships with in state coaches to get more of the local talent. I know that the grass is often greener on the other side but so far I'd have to say the AD is trying to get the ship righted and will make a solid decision on his new hire.

I think we can settle that 1902 game between Coe and Cornell by asking someone who I believe was there...Purple Heys? Can you let us know who the winner was?

That's great. We have a lot of friends that play for Deer Valley. I coached pop warner here for a number of years and then at O'Connor high school where our youngest is a senior this year. Are you guys going to go up for any games this year?

AZDutchman where are you in the valley? I'm in north Phoenix off of Happy Valley. I have a son here that plays too, as well as one that plays at Cornell, and a daughter up in Utah that runs cross country and track. Went to Deer Valley and Brophy last night and it was hot!

Matt Barkely has just announce that "Pete Carroll isn't qualified to hold Coach Zweifel jock, therefor I'm transferring to the UD to fulfill a lifelong dream of playing QB in Coach Z's system!" As a side not Barkley will be staying at USC because Coach Zweifel said, "Barkley is not a good fit in my system!"

As a relatively new dad to the IIAC, I wondered if you guys can tell me the number of schools that do not have a JV program? Obviously I know that Cornell does not have a JV team. Who else? I hear the number of new kids coming into some of these programs each year and it's staggering really. Are there a lot of junior colleges with football in Iowa? Thanks.

I have to agree with Heys on this. The effort at Cornell is there and in the right places to have success. How cool will it be for the kids, coaches, and administration who weathered the tough times in football the last few years to find success. It's always easy to quit or move to the perceived "greener grass" but the character shows through in those that stay the course. There are situations where things just don't fit and it truely benefits the young man to move on. I think those are the exceptions not the norm. The norm is to quit and move on to a team with a better record. I see it all the time as a coach. Parents will shop their kids around and look for the easy path on an established team that will guarantee a "fair shot to start" at their kids position. My son is at a school that wants him, with teammates that want him, and where they are trying to change the culture of losing. It won't be easy but it will be worth it!

I bought it the other day and thought it was already out. When it went back to my 2008 login I thought I screwed it up but then I saw it was suppose to come out later. My wifes birthday is the 26th, maybe I can give her a subscription for her b'day!
