as a former defensive player for the old scarlet, i love to see what ya'll think about this years d.  matt whyde is a disruptive force on the d line, and i think that wabash is deceptively deep on the d line.  a bunch of guys that don't steal the spotlight, but still a great addition to the d.  but, as most of us wabash faithful know, the deepest part of our defense is the lbs.  kraft might be the most athletically gifted lb or player for that matter.  he flies around.  cj gum is a hard nosed old school football player. he will straight knock your teeth out.  james panell is a freak, and it crosses my eyes to watch him pass rush.  and bryan watson might be the most underrated player in the conference.  his stats aren't eye popping, but he plays with an anger and intensity that gives me chills.  and that 40 makes anybody play like a stud.  in terms of secondary, frederick is slowly becoming a viable candidate for d player of the year--ints happen to just collect in his stat column every week.  and jake martin is playing lights out.  i think wash u and any other team the W plays this year will be sore as hell on sunday.  wondering if anyone has any thoughts for a grizzled ex player tryin to follow his alma mater.

offensively though, hudson needs to start takin care of that ball better.  but he's improving, and soon will be all american caliber.  mambourg is a straight stud.  tokar is a dominant force.  and i don't need to say a word about the receivers.  ha!

I'm a recent alum, played football, but like my anonymity...haha.

Defensively, how will Wabash be next year?  I know that they are missing three of the best D Linemen to play in the conference in Kennon, Lange, and Gangloff, but how will they fair?  If you guys could fill in my gaps, I'll tell you what I know.

D Line- Number 94 Whyde looked like a stud.  I look for him to be an absolute animal.  Who will be coming back?  Who's going to step up?

LBs- Two Seniors gone, which is an experience problem.  But Watson is coming back, and with that #40 on his back he might as well have a Superman Cape on.  I look for him to be a dark horse for Defensive POY, especially now that the pressure is on the LBs to make plays this year.  I also heard Kraft is back, and he's a definate stud.  What about this Gum kid?

Secondary- Dan Ryan Wood?  I know that Frederick is a pick machine back there, but who else will step up with him?

Projections for next year, correct me if wrong:
1st team all NCAC
Jeremy Morris, Evan Isaacs, Kody Lemmond, Matt Hudson, Skip Tokar, Wes Chamblee

Matt Whyde, Bryan Watson, Matt Kraft, Addrian Frederick, Dan Ryan Wood

Think thats pretty solid, and a pretty solid first post I'd say!
