Can't help to wonder the impact that Ryan Souders, as an ex-keeper and coach, had on his play.

The NCAA scheduling committee has done it again. Another year of religious exceptions putting games on school days to avoid Sundays.

Why should some kids have to miss school so other kids don't have to miss church? Strange precedent for the NCAA to set...

That is an absolutely valid point.  The logic escapes me.  What would happen, say, if Yeshiva (they don't play on Saturday, the Jewish Sabbath) made the tournament (ok, not going to' happen, I know, but it COULD) and was placed in a bracket with a team that did not play on Sunday?  Friday-Monday games?  For my money, if your faith is strong enough that you won't play when the rest of the field is playing, you take a forfeit and be happy that you stayed true to your faith.

A related observation.  I once saw the coaches of a-not-to-be-named-school-that-does-not-play-on-Sundays scouting the upcoming opposition on the Sunday before their match.

Well, Yeshiva could get around it if they played on Saturday night after the sun went down (when the Sabbath ends.) However, if they went to the Final Four, then there could be real trouble. ;)

If we are so worried about these players missing classes, maybe all weekday games and out of town" trips" during the season should be done away with too. If a student or team doesn't feel that they can get their academic work done, maybe they should just not play or they should  forfeit the game and be true to their academic pursuit.

If they were tied, I believe it would have been North Park on conference goal differential.

Doesn't matter, Elmhurst wins in OT. Wheaton plays Elmhurst and Carthage plays North Central.

The Wheaton/North Park match is at Wheaton tonight, not North Park as mentioned earlier. Additionally, on the chance that Wheaton and Carthage ended in a points tie, Wheaton is the #1 seed for the CCIW Tournament and would host. Finally, at this point, Wheaton is the only team that has qualified for the tournament.

I am just curious what the SOS's were before the tournament started as playing the tournament games obviously increases the SOS.  Just want to see how it played out.  In all honesty, I am not trying to make any point.  I am just trying to see regular season final SOS's.....

Are BF and Nutmeg one in the same?  Someone asked Nutmeg what his real point is and now BF responds out of nowhere with the above.  What point are you all trying to make?  If it is that NESCAC schools have by far the toughest schedules in the country then rest of us will just concede that and move on.

NCAC....ding, ding, ding...a thread comes up about next years schedules and Nutmeg/BF whomever.... seem to want to run with some other agenda.......

Nutmeg, you obviously are intent on making a point, as you continue to request the SOS rankings. What is it?

I am a bit surprised that there are questions about the SOS for Wheaton. Traditionally, they play one of the most difficult schedules in the nation. Those first 5 games with Wash U on the second day of a tournament, then Loras away and 2 days later a flight to GA for Berry away, (after a game the day before with Olgethorpe and all in 8 days) looks like it is a tough start. This is with a new head coach. There may games that will be easier, mixed in throughout the season, but it is certainly more than an "average" schedule.

Maybe someone can list the SOS figures four the top 25 teams from last year so we can see. I don't know where to find them....maybe even the figures before and after the tournament started last year....

Here are the Final 2014 D3 Massey Ratings:

Since you made the statement, wouldn't the burden of proof be on you rather than everyone else? The issue is that you throw out statements about players and why they are attending certain schools. Having an opinion on a players ability is one thing. Indicating that if a player was good enough, he would be somewhere else without ANY knowledge of the situation is irresponsible.

Caleb "friggin" Cole from Gordon and Coast GK 2nd team..Finklestein 1st team?   uuuuggggggggghhhhh

Only 3 Nescac players total and all on the 3rd team. The Nescac POY on 3rd team with all those other New England players ahead of him?

This is the worst I have seen this at least for the New England region.

Wow. I would give Caleb Cole a little more credit. I live just north if Boston so I get to see Tufts, Brandeis, Babson and Gordon play quite a bit. As a freshman last year he was widely considered the best player in the CCC... Yes, I know it's a middle of the road conference. This year there was no question he was the best. He played for an academy club and with the Philly Union reserves.  He's small but I haven't seen a more technical d3 player in years.  He would be an impact player on any if the local sides mentioned above.

If Caleb Cole was that good he would be sitting on Messiah's bench since he is from PA. He is skilled but very slight and against good teams to which Gordon played NONE Cole would get eaten up. He needs to add 10-15lbs of muscle to that frame, keep his speed and technical ability, and score 15-20 goals. Then he would be a great All-American. If Gordon would schedule a Nescac or even a Newmac school then we could see how he would do.

Mr. Right, Do you have personal knowledge that he wanted to go to Messiah?

In addition, both those teams are "Top 10" teams. They also beat 2 "Top 25" teams in Montclair and Calvin. Doubt any team in the country has played a tougher schedule in their first 10 games. Actually a bigger test lurking is this Friday vs. Wash U. away. North Park is still several weeks away and will be big..... come that time!

Puerco Espin, to your question of how to reel kicking the ball away. If the official would enforce The Laws of the Game and start pulling cards, I feel certain it would reduce the practice. If a player does it again, pull the red. If there is one thing I would think any competitive athelete wants to do, it is play ;)
Yellow card yes, but I don't think a red card would ever be issued for something like that

KICKIN95, give him a yellow and tell him the next time he does it, he gets another. That will get him his red and put him on the bench. Never a straight red, as the Laws state a yellow for a delay of game and also for unsporting behavior. Repeatedly kicking the ball away would fit under both.
