Anyone have any insight as to why Bethel appears to be headed to Coe?

NPI has Bethel @ 28, Coe @ 30. Seems to me that Bethel should be hosting based on ranking, but I may have missed something.

Final Regional rankings are out on the NCAA site: https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/football/d3/regional-rankings
Region VI
1   Wis.-La Crosse   7-1   9-1
2   Wis.-Whitewater   9-1   9-1
3   Saint John's (MN)   8-2   8-2
4   Whitworth   8-0   9-0
5   Bethel (MN)   8-2   8-2

6   Linfield   8-1   8-1
7   Wis.-River Falls   7-3   7-3

I fully admit that the following could be construed as a conspiracy theory, so I'm willing to be told off in spectacular fashion...

Any chance that the national committee overruled the RAC and bumped 9-1 Linfield over 8-2 SJU? Despite the Chair's statement that they're following the guidance of the RAC's, they do have the power to overrule if the RAC doesn't fit their worldview. With Whitewater as the obvious 1st Pool C and River Falls dropping to 7, everyone else is a Pool A leaving just the Cats or the Johnnies to go 3 rounds in the rankings. If record became more important to the national committee than RRO or SOS, its shady, but not inconceivable that Johnnies got stuck behind Linfield and never came to the table.

Coe 9-1, 1-1 RRO, .503 SOS over Linfield 9-1, 0-1 RRO, .510 SOS . With a win over an RRO, Coe is at least defensible from the committee in this scenario.

I fully agree with many on the board, it'd be nice to have more transparency on how to build your resume and then have the committee follow it consistently!

It'd be nice not to have beat the refs too...

Looks like the Cobber stream is working now.

Congrats Toms. You were the better team yesterday. Controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Held Sam Sura in check and made it a long afternoon for Nick Martin.

Second, whoever the Tommie fan (definitely a student) was who was shaking hands inside the main gate around noon was a really cool guy. Decked out in purple, he was just shaking hands of the Johnnie fans and saying "good luck today." He wasn't talking smack, not being a punk, just sincerely happy to be there and looking forward to a good game. For as much **** as we give eachother throughout the season, this week in particular, it was nice to see and to talk with this kid for a few minutes. He seems to have a handle on what this rivalry is about. Kudos!

Now don't get me wrong, I drink plenty of the red Kool-Aid, but did anyone else think that the play calling was a little suspect for the Johnnies yesterday? I haven't gone back and looked at the recap or stats yet, but it seemed pretty much every 1st down was a run between the guards for 1-2 yards, followed by a run between the guards for 1-2 yards, bringing up a 3rd and long where the Tommies could pin their ears back and go after Martin. I get when you have Sura you run him, but why not off tackle or try to get him outside on a toss-sweep like UST ran so well? Maybe I didn't notice the same play calling strategy in the 1st 3 games given his success running the ball, but when it wasn't really working there didn't seem to be an adjustment. Yes, Sura broke a couple for 8-10 yards up the gut so there were glimmers of hope, but why didn't SJU try a play action to pull the defense forward or maybe even a screen pass since they were getting beat up front? It just seemed like the offensive play-calling was incredibly rigid and unimaginative yesterday.

Due to the extreme heat today, the computer that provides the video webcast is overheating and is causing disruptions in the stream. We understand your frustrations and appreciate your patience.

Thanks for the update.

Based on the "seedings" SJU should be traveling to Wartburg next weekend. Does anyone think that the NCAA could move the game to Collegeville to try to capitalize on the gate? Based on the regional rankings there's no way they move it from Waverly, but it is the NCAA after all.

I'll sit back and watch my K get dropped by the Wartburg supporters for merely suggesting such a possibility.
