Well, maybe the new CSS football coach can at least improve the video feed.

ROR, so kind of you to ask! (and I am sure the rest of the board has been waiting on the edge of their seats since I didn't see any of you at the tailgate).

St. Ben's took 5th in both Jazz and Pom in the open (smallest) division. Mankato took first in both Jazz and Pom, Duluth took second in both, and SCSU took 4th in both (which did not make CSB too happy).

Minnesota is crazy talented with dancers. The Gophers are incredible and compete in the top division and have won the most national championships of any college team. UST did well in the middle division and are also very good.

I promise this will be the last post about dance until football season.

Easily the best football player I ever watched play in person.

Not a lot of activity on the college dance post patterns boards, so I will put this here. Heading down to Orlando this coming weekend to watch the CSB dance team at Nationals. Hope to see some of you at the tailgate!

Reusse's thoughts on the state of college football from his latest column:

"College football: Cheer, cheer for old Notre Dame, just out of long-ago habit. Trying to figure out legitimacy in 18-team conferences is not possible with nine-game schedules.

I'd rather watch St. John's and Bethel (and I do) than the Gophers play Wisconsin with the goal being a tie for seventh in their conference. Penn State game here was good though ... I'll give that to P.J.'s fellas."

Me too, Pat. Me too.

I agree, it is really tough to gauge a team by scores and stats. The Sus loss to Cortland by 2 points is nothing to sneeze at, I really don't think this is a weaker team from the East. I am expecting a game similar to the SJU-Aurora game a few years back. Two really good offenses that are tough to stop, but I think the SJU D gets enough stops to pull out a victory. 38-28 SJU

Pat-I kind of like the idea of breaking up the 40 over the two weeks. 40 is a lot of team profiles to crank out in a week! It is also a lot for readers to digest. Whatever you decide, just know that we love to read the profiles of each team!

Can't wait for team profiles to come out, my favorite week of the year!

Time of death, 5 pm on Friday night. My daughter came home from CSB and turned on the fireplace while I was outside raking leaves. The house was at 61 degrees. Sigh.

Woke up to the house at 64 degrees this morning, but still master of my domain. My daughter is back at St. Ben's after being home for fall break, but now my wife is starting to complain about it being too cold in the house. However, my 17 year old is all in and he desperately wants a furnace championship. He suggested we buy my wife a heated vest today, which would defeat the purpose of saving money from not turning the furnace on, but I like his enthusiasm. With him on board, it's two against one in the house.

Now that my daughter is at St. Ben's, this could help keep the furnace off longer. However, it's fall break this weekend through Tuesday and she will be home and the temps are supposed to drop.

I am too lazy to make a poll. Which is more enjoyable, that sweet spot when you don't have to run the air conditioning or furnace? Or that sweet spot in the year when you are done mowing and don't have to shovel/blow snow yet?

Would have been perfect if they would have faked the field goal and thrown a behind the back pass to pick up a first down to keep the drive moving.

Don't forget to watch the CSB competitive dance team tomorrow during halftime. Look for a red head with killer dance moves (that she learned from her dad) making her Clemens Stadium debut. Should be even more exciting than the Coborn's grocery cart race.
