A lot of us have to be thinking about it, so I'll be the first to bring it up.
If UWW runs the regular season table in 2012, that will give them 55 wins straight...which will tie UMU for the longest winning streak in college football history (any division).
I know the team won't be looking ahead, but that's the beauty of these message boards. What ever gets said here doesn't determine the outcome of games. So we can get away with it.
It won't be easy to do, but it's very doable.
02,
What was Oklahoma's winning streak at back in the 50's that Notre Dame ended?? I thought it was longer then 55 games???

Thats exactly what I am saying. Beaver,Jones, and all of the great Warhawk players are great players. However they are not on the same level as Garcone and Shorts. However those types of players only come around once in a while.

Over the last 20 years some Raider supporters have, no doubt, become complacement with winning. When a program continues to win over that long stretch, playing 14-15 games each year, having great recruits, some lose interest. Many supporters, myself included treasure each season, realizing that we are fortuate to witness this program in our lifetime. Each year the team is different and great players like Garcon, Short, Kmic and Micheli make their contribution, but another season comes with new faces.
UWW's best player, Coppage, is now moving on, and yeah, the Warhawks will feel it like the Raiders have when one of their great players graduates. So, enjoy every victory like I have, since it is something we all will not see again!
[/quote]
The Warhawks went thru it when Beaver, Jones, and Donovan among others graduated and will again with this group of seniors although none of them at the NFL level of Garcone or Shorts.
The Warhawks will just reload for the 2012 season and go at it taking it one game at a time.
Hopfully the rumors via footballscoop about bielema talking to Liepold about a job at Wisconsin are not true and the Hawks are not looking for a new coach which would happer the "recruiting" efforts if the kids don't know who the head coach is going to be. If and he does leave.

I saw this on footballscoop.com. Not sure how accurate it is but congrats to coach Gehring if it is true. Midland University (NAIA - NE): We hear Wisconsin Whitewater quarterbacks coach Josh Gehring has accepted the head coaching position at Midland.

I just remember LK saying that the 02 game was one of the most physical games that they had played in a while. I also remember the next mroning coach Brez asking me what I thought, and I said we have a long way to be as good as they are. Well at least the last three years we are better then they are. As your only as good as your last game.Quote from: warhawkbabe on December 17, 2011, 07:57:49 AMQuote from: Sakman 1111 on December 17, 2011, 12:02:32 AMSakman-The 02 game was only a 14 point difference 42-28. The 03 game was bad.
9 years or so ago I sat in the stands and watched Mount Union monkey stomp Whitewater during my sons red shirt year and then the next year they beat us pretty bad in Ohio.....after that 7 trips to the finals, 4 national championships, and 45 wins in a row. My son told me they were getting pretty good but this run is unbelievable. Great players, great coaching, and some luck has made for great success.....Continue to Pound the Rock......Congrats to all......
Not so fast...
'02 44-21 @ UWW
'03 40-17 @ Mount
...at that time, they were both, equally bad. However, they served a greater purpose, unknown at that time which we may now be reaping the benefits of today!!So, in hindsight, maybe they were both equally good.

However the worse game during your sone career was the 06 stagg bowl where a true MONEKY STOMP was given the hawks by the purle raiders. Where the only touchdown was set up by a long kickoff return and that wr that every hawk fan loves to hate Garcone made WW look really bad. However thats why he is in the league. Any way the 45 game winning streak is simply impressive

Mount never having the best SOS among unbeatens in the North but still getting the #1 seed year after year while 2010 Warhawks did not receive the same courtesy being given the #2 seed in the 4th region
I lovew the warhawks but when we become as dominant in D3Football like Mount Union has 10 titles and winning 101 of 102 games like they did at one point back when WW first played them mayb e WW will get the #1 seed. No matter what. I was at a clinic this february where the north central coaches said they should have beaten WW,and I laughed. As they had there chance and failed.

As good as all of those runs were. I still think Garcone catch and run after the catch in 06 where he dove into the end zone at the end was one of the best moves every. It was not the catch that was great but the run after the catch and how he ran away from the warhawks defenders.

Lets just hope that this strike/work stoppage is over by mid June so the entire football season can be played, as it would suck not to have football to watch on Sundays.
If they want to extend the season to 18 games they need to expand the roster and decrease the preseason.
I remember when baseball had there strike and how long it took them to win their fans back. Hopfully it won't get to that point with football. Like I said sundays without football would be just wrong.

O2-You could call the UWW football office they have all of the recap books from every seasion in the 90's there in binders. Lists all of the coaches and players as well as stats from every year and who was winning what award at the banquet. It's actually the book that was given to everyone who attended the banquet.

That was a great game yesterday. It will be interesting to see the last game of the year re-match. Althogh with all of the conference tournaments and tournamnet champion getting automatic bids to the BIG DANCE. The regualr season doesn't really matter that much, as if you do well in the tournament you most likely will make the BIG DANCE.
