Definitely a game of runs! I thought Hope had its chances especially when Mantel and Veltema were both out of the game for an extended amount of time.  Good to be able to watch this one online.  I wasn't impressed as everyone else is with Snikkers, although everyone has tough games.  Felt like he was forcing things and taking bad shots, but that comes with experience and nerves often get the better of you in a Hope/Calvin game.
I also noticed with Bowser and his FT shooting, I don't know if its necessarily him falling off the line as much as it is him staring at the ground until a fraction of a second before he shoots it.  It's a Free Throw, why shoot it blind?
Both teams played well and can't be disappointed with their offensive efficiency.

Welcome Airballer:  Good question on Mantel.  You hit upon a key problem with many results of statistic mining.  Namely a player's contribution may be greater than the sum of any statiscs you use.  Especially when your entry criteria is the person must average only 5 minutes p.t. per game.
IMO Mantel would play/start on, and make every team in the MIAA better were he to do so.  The same can be said for a handful of other players in the conference this year.  Many of the starters on teams in the MIAA would probably see playing time for most other teams in the conference, but they don't rate as impact or dominant players. :)

That's a good point!  I also feel that a player should have a better efficiency rating the more minutes they get.  Just with the flow of the game, getting consistent minutes helps.  But like you said, I agree, you can't put a stat on "good screens" or "moving without the ball" or "running the floor" to get someone else open!

Where does John Mantle stand on this efficiency rating?  A projected MVP of the league has to be up there somewhere!
