Thanks for the explanation Monrovia.

But that being the case, it sure seems like someone's off their nut somewhere when
the #2 team in the nation is #3 in their own region and the #1 team isn't even in that region.

Not saying anybody got hosed here, but you'd think think they could be more consistent than that.

Anyway, go Cats!

You are absolutely right on point.    Here is a better idea to remove all personal bias for home games in the quarter and semi-finals.   It is based on the idea that the final eight teams are all good and more or less evenly matched.   Also, no team should automatically get all home games.    Therefore, all personal opinions and biases should be removed.

Division III football playoffs:
For the Quarter-finals and the semi-finals, NCAA should just flip a coin to see who gets the home game.

That is the only fair and unbiased method.

Flip a coin for next week's games and the following week's games.

I could live with that

OK, I know this is a stupid question,

but can someone give me a quick explanation on why the 2nd ranked Cats get seeded below the 5th ranked UWW and lose home field advantage?

Why do they not use the rankings as seeding criteria?

Congrats to the Cats!  From off the radar screen ...

I keep hearing this claim, as if somehow there were no votes for Linfield in the preseason poll, or somehow we didn't rank Linfield 29th in the 1-238 Kickoff ranking. Linfield wasn't off the radar at all. They weren't in the Top 25 but they were very squarely ON the radar, people.
Pat, I don't totally dissagree with you, or 64.  I think we were on the radar, but just a blip.  After all, we weren't picked to win our own conference at the beginning of the year, by no fault of D3.  It's just the way things looked back then.  Realisticly I think there were 8 or 10 teams that you would really have said had a good shot at being there at the end. Just my thinking, no slight intended.

Congratulations Warhawks!

Also, not going to go back and find the Linfield fan, but the Championship game was not played last week, it was played tonight in Salem.
That was me KD.  And no arguement here.  It was one of the best games I've seen at any level!  I was impressed with the character of both squads.  The game did remind me a lot of the Linfield game though.  The momentum swings were similar throughout the game.  I would honestly have to say that both teams played at an extremely high level yesterday, and deserved to be there.  I'm still a WILDCAT though! 8)

Congrats all you Whitewater Warhawks!  You have an incredible 4th quarter team.
Another epic football game between two great groups of young men.  Classy performance by both squads!  We'll see you next DECEMBER ;)
go wildcats!

Good luck tomorrow Warhawks. All us Cat fans will be pulling for you.  Hope both teams are healthy and you take home the trophy!
