So I hope the Marlins continue to be cocky, the Tigers continue to be snobs, the quakers continue to be boring and the yellow jackets continue to be stuffy aaaaahhnnyway.  Go Marlins!!!

I'll accept the Quakers as boring as long as their achievements on the court are properly acknowledged as well.  I'll sign on for boring and awesome right now.

Guilford over Roanoke by 2 in OT.  Quakers were up comfortably in the second half, but let it slip away.  Pittman fouls out, but they pull out a squeaker.

Guilford Quakers over VW Marlins 64-61.  Josh Pittman had only 3 points, but Tobi Akinsola came up big with 26 to carry the Quakers to victory.

Sweet....

Coach Jensen was one of the few people who I considered to be a friend, a mentor, and someone who I looked to as a model in life.  He was first and foremost, a family man.  He dearly loved his wife and children.  He was a man of great faith in God.  He loved Guilford College and the opportunity that came with his job to be an influence on young people.

He will be greatly missed by generations of former students and players.

Quote from: hasanova on March 08, 2010, 09:28:03 PMI think RMC defeated C. of Wooster this season, so that's a common opponent of the Quakers.
R-MC beat Wooster at R-MC 72-65 on Dec. 14.

Another common opponent is Ohio Wesleyan.  The Quakers beat OWU at Marietta by 7 on Dec. 29; Wooster beat the Battling Bishops three times, by eight, 16, and 17 points.  Not that this tells us anything very useful about this Friday's matchup, one in which Guilford will be a solid favorite.

One other common opponent is John Carroll.  Wooster lost 71-63 at John Carroll on November 29.

Macon wins 70-60, but was really closer than the score indicates!   Wow 28-8 advantage in free throw attempts.  They made 22 of them. Good thing.

I was at Albright tonight to see Clark play RMC.  RMC had about a 3-inch average height advantage over Clark, and I really thought RMC would run away and hide.  Clark played them tough the entire game, and never quit, even when down by 10 with less than 2 minutes to go.  Congrats to RMC who was able to put away a very tenacious and under-sized opponent.

2RMC,
I will be at tomorrow's game at 7pm.  Hopefully it will be RMC vs Albright. as my niece is a cheerleader at Albright.

R-MC's Pugh and Phillips were the other 2 All-Tourney recipients.

I would like to correct myself; Danny Jones was on the all-tournament team, not Phillips.

What a fabulous game!!!  R-M beat EMU 82-80. Philips makes 2 free throws with .1 seconds remaining to break the tie!  Unbelievable game.  Congratulations to both teams on a marvelous effort.

I would equate this discussion to the following:  "who would you rather have; Kobe Bryant at the top of his game, or Shaq at the top of his game?"

When Shaq and Kobe were winning NBA titles with the Lakers, everybody knew that Kobe was a truly great player who could "do it all".  At the end of the day though, the more valuable player is the dominant big man who takes the pressure off of all the other players and frees them up to be their best.

EMU pulls it out 86-81.  Bridgewater led by as many as 8 early in the second half, but couldn't hold on.
