I just want to say that after all the early season Joe Brown bashing, it was a pleasure to see Cortland make such a strong run at the National Championship.

Despite Cortland's team ERA of around 14 for for the World Series, they were resilient and kept putting runs on the board.

Andy Gardner was snubbed by D3baseball.com and the ABCA All-American selections but proved in the World Series that he was one of the best D-III baseball players in the country. It is a debacle that he wasn't the Most Outstanding Player of the Series but the Grobecki kid did have quite a Series himself.

Anyways, 400 wins, 10 World Series appearances and many critics later, Joe Brown can stand tall- and recruit some pitching!!!

Filak is legit. 92-94 with a slider/curve that he throws for strikes. I think it's like a knuckle curve of some sort but when he's throwing that for strikes, he's obviously very good.

I was wondering about Coolidge...awesome stuff...very happy for his success....but I gotta say that there's more to W's and L's for JB....and after this I will cease with this silly back and forth...all of the allegations are so false...lol, it is once again, laughable...of course you won't mention them in a public forum because the stupid comments are false! As I said before and again, this will be the last time, his integrity is beyond reproach....and the guy down the road is his freakin' mentor! And only plays 30 games each year...lol...God bless and best of luck to all....just check out all these posts at the end of May and we shall see what the evil Joe Brown has done for SUNY Cortland once again...oh, and the fine young men that are wound so tight, we'll see how they feel as well...Peace be to all.

My point in sharing the quote from Roosevelt wasn't a plea for sensitivity...it was just a quote to give people who don't coach at the level as Coach Brown does, the opportunity to understand that until they've done something remotely close to what he has, they really don't deserve to lash out like that. Of course, and absolutely, everyone should be able to post their opinion...100% agreed ...however, it irks the heck out of me when that opinion is sooooo wrong and uninformed...yeah, people on his roster that don't play could start for any other SUNYAC team?!? Like who? And based on what performance? What are you even talking about? Did you see someone play in high school 3 years ago? Most kids who go to Cortland and fail, do so because of their own shortcomings, usually in school or socially...usually not because of failure on the field or because of the coach. Count 'em up and get back to me, you all-knowing guru of the SUNYAC..all the kids who left the program because of the tyrant coach who has the kids all wound so tight that they just can't possibly function...it's kind of funny that you make the comments about sensitivity...a little hypocritical, no? I guarantee that JB could care less what anyone on here thinks of him or his coaching philosophy. And I also guarantee that he will continue to do things his way...because he does it right,wins, kids graduate and succeed in life...how many other programs can match the numbers? It'd be pretty interesting to see accurate comparisons between the SUNYAC schools. I think most AD's would love to have a guy like him coaching any of their athletic teams. He strictly adheres to the rules, monitors grades and academic progress of all his players and they usually end up graduating..oh, or playing professionally and then coming back to school to get their degrees. Enough said.

This is laughable. JB is perhaps the most knowledgeable and dedicated baseball guy around. He's got the highest winning percentage among active D-III coaches and is third ALL-TIME! Sure, he's had good players...because he recruited them! LOL. He's got 18 years worth of former players that he keeps in touch with and not because he had them wound so tight they couldn't play well. For those who want to bash him, I can only imagine that they must have been cut or didn't play under him because they just weren't good enough.

Just remember all these silly comments at the end of May. This may be the best Cortland team ever. The game vs. Farmingdale may prove to be the galvanizing ingredient this team needed. 7 games in 7 days vs. good opponents in Florida will tell the story of the pitching depth and whether this team is tough enough to advance past the Regionals, which they will be a part of....again...for the 18th straight year!
