I think in the New York Region there is 4 or 5 potential draft picks.
Filak of course and then 4 players from Cortland--Andersen Gardner, Travis Ratliff, Stephen Nickel, Kyle Dimino.

I'd say of those 5 there is only one shoe in and thats Filak...probably a top 6 round guy.

Is that the same Matt Kelley on the Skidmore bench that played at PLattsburgh?

Well obviously I was not there to deal with any of the deliberations over who played and when...but im not a idiot...

We all agree that the raindate for the tournament was Monday...correct

They could have easily played on Sunday, but as we stated, if they knew Brockport was leaving, there really was no point in pressing the issue...So yes pg this was a ploy. Im not insinuating anything, im just being an educated individual who can read situations...All Brockport had to do was say "sorry tests Monday"..which should have been followed up with "Have you read the rule book ?"

My wife would not like me saying this, but I would be willing to bet my childrens college fund on the fact that Brockport used this ploy as a bargaining chip. I sure once their coach made mention of this to Joan Sitterly or whomever is in charge of this stuff, she was forced to call things. A very unethical ploy by them, but nothing can be done now.

I just dont seem to think  this situation is very fair...not for Cortland or for the SUNYACs, but for other teams around the country. You can all but assure yourselves that Cortland is getting  a Pool C bid, eliminating one. With selections not being made until next Sunday, that gives us one week to play 3 games. Efforts are being made thorughout the country to get games played and I think a better effort should have been made here.

Also on the final exam issue for Brockport, was Monday not already the raindate if games oculd not be played on the weekend? I understand we are dealing with STUDENt-athletes, but if a team is unable to make the commitment to the tournament (i.e. oblige with the policy and procedures and bylaws, in this case rain date on monday) then they should not be entered in. Basically what you are doing is forcing those who make the decisions, in this case I believe it was Cortland AD Joan Sitterly, to call off the tournament. I think it would have been interesting to been in on the meetings with all this if Cortland was sitting at 2-0, how importand would final exams be then?

How can something like this happen? Kudos to Brockport for doing what they did but...I mean c'mom how can a winner be awarded with games left to play? If imOneonta I got a major problem with this...I wouldnt' have been suprised if Ferchen was out on Wallace Field with a bunch of space heaters, trying to convince someone that they could play.

I know that Cortland is hosting this regional, but is there any chance that if they grab that Pool C, they get shipped elsewhere? I would figure Brockport would stay in region because they won the AQ..

Agreed on that...New Paltz just needs to play much more solid defense behind those three young guys. They will take there lumps early, but by Junior and Senior year, look for NP to be challenging for the conference title. Coach Griffiths needs to build aorund those three and not let them waste away with no talent around them.

Truth I respect your right to post what you want, you have an opinion and you stick to it, I respect that.
I'm just curious what your hatred for Plattsburgh is? Will you be there this weekend, cause I would love to talk baseball with you, I think I'll be there Friday cause I would really like to see Filak pitch.

Should be an exciting tournament. I would guess a number of scouts will be there Day 1 to see Filak throw...could be a great opportunity for someone to have a good showing and cathc their eye.

It would be nice to see someone else take home the title this year, give NY some more representation in the Regionals. I just dont think it is going to happen...

KSki...you legal age to consume those "few" right?? Lol

I agree this PLattsburgh discussion is getting old...so they play a weak schedule, lets get over it and move on. If they have a good showing this weekend, then they deserve the bid, if they go 0-2 or 1-2 then they wont get a bid. I think the Doorey conspiracy theories need to come to a halt...What is Platts had lost all these "cupcake" games what would the story be then? This really is a double-edged sword for Plattsburgh...

My predictions for the weekend

Game 1-Platts beats Brockport in a close one
Game 2-Cortland beats Filak in another close one, I just think its gonna be to hard for him to beat Cortland twice

Game 3-Brockport over Oneonta
Game 4-Cortland over Plattsburgh in a laugher
Game 5-Brockport over PLattsburgh in a close one with both teams not having many arms left

Game 6-Cortland spanks Brockport..Cortland will have a rested staff, while Brockport will be throwing
end of the rotation guys
